Dianne Abbott

There is a good chance that she is just a bit of a dick in fairness.

I thought that for a long time, but to be fair she doesn't even appear capable of stringing a coherent sentence together now, so why does her party think its Ok for her to appear on a fairly pressurised TV programme to defend their position ? Surely they have some control over this and could spare her the embarrassment ?

Just seen her interview this morning on GMTV,regarding Labours Immigration policy.

Fucking hell, she's a joke, she's absolutely clueless and thick as pigshit.

She should not be an MP and she shouldn't be representing anyone,as she isn't competent and utterly out of her depth.

I'll say the same as I did when someone commented that Doctor Liam Fox is stupid.

No she isn't. She's many things, but she absolutely isn't "thick as pigshit".

Really? then why does she portray that trait each and every time she is asked a question or invited to comment on a topic of public interest?

Is it just a brilliant act?

She has a 2-2 in history from Cambridge. But in all fairness I think she has progressively got worse when it comes to interviews the past 10 years, especially in pressured situations. She used to present her case well but these days she rearly comes across well at all. She just isnt cabinet material and that is saying something with the level of incomptency present in all political parties these days. Ps I'm no fan of her politics by the way.

She's appalling in interviews. She never used to be. I've said before I'm not convinced she's completely healthy. She's just not thick.

She isn’t that thick. One look at the register of interests shows she earns nicely off all these car crash media interviews lol.

She does the party she represents no favours.

I don't disagree but she did manage to get to Cambridge where many daughters of Jamaican immigrants don't because the odds are massively stacked against them. She must of had something about her to get to where she has.

All that said she is a massive liability in front of the cameras and someone needs to have that conversation with her.

Sometimes people just “lose it”.

Be that a footballer, politician, actor, painter and decorator etc etc.

She’s obviously a very bright person and was once a lot better than she is.

Labour just need to take her out of the firing line for a period of time and Corbyn needs to protect her better.

I disagree with you on that part. She's the Shadow Home Secretary, not some no mark backbencher. She can't be protected or hidden away, if she can't do the job (for whatever reason) she shouldn't be in post.

I have more concern and sympathy for Abbott than dislike, but she wants to hold one of the main offices of state. No hiding is acceptable.

I don’t disagree in the main, she may get it back though, who knows?

A time out of television performances may help but I probably agree in that they need to get her off the front benches.

Estelle Morris springs to mind. Nothing but respect for her.

She needs replacing with someone the public can trust to perform the role she clearly can't.It's baffling how she continues to keep up the gig as her capability is in question, and that should be a huge concern.

Corbyn doesn't have that many close allies in the PLP. That's why she stays.

I hated Diane Abbott. Thought she's a total moron, politically idiotic and barely electable.

And she is, sometimes, when she talks to the media or on social media.

But over the past few months I've made a concerted effort to go out of my way to watch her in Parliament.

It's becoming obvious that she's a different politician when the lights are on compared to off. Any time she's in a high profile position or giving a speech that will be on the news, she goes into this odd character.

However for the day to day business of the House, she's exceptionally good. I wish we could see more of that woman because she's extremely competent, rational and impartial
