Just been watching a video of the fight between Millwall & Everton fans before the game (an Everton fan seemingly was slashed across the face during this - photo doesn't look good). It was very 70s with everyone going toe to toe and none of the usual 10 on 1 or chair / bottle throwing you occasionally see nowadays.

I'm not advocating violence as when I was going home and away during the 70s & 80s I saw loads of major kick offs but you didn't have to get involved if you didn't want to. I sometimes had to throw the odd punch if under attack but nothing of note truth be told.
