Garth Crooks TOTW:
“Raheem Sterling: When a penalty appeal goes so badly against you and the home crowd have the audacity to boo you because they believe you have tried to gain an advantage, the humiliation of it all can unravel your entire game.
Sterling's goal and overall performance against a totally outclassed Huddersfield Town proved the England international is made of tougher stuff than that. Andre Marriner's decision not to award Sterling a penalty was so bad it was almost villainous.
As for his assistant referee Richard West, he might as well have gone West! “

I used to be like my fellow blues on here, shouting at the radio or TV, whenever a pundit said a bad word about City, but you know what there not gonna change so I don't listen, its been over 2 yrs now since I tuned in to MOTD or talkshite. We follow a great team, we watch Leroy, Raz, KDB, Fern, Serg every wk, we live in a great city, that's exciting, jobs etc enjoy your life, and I cant wait for the Burnley game.

This. We are privileged to watch these great players. I haven't watched MOTD, listened to Talksh1te or read a paper for years and my life is much calmer because of this.

I’m still trying to work out how having played Brighton , arsenal and palace twice, Murphy has come to the conclusion Liverpool have an easier run.

The spin they put on is laughable.
They have spurs and Chelsea at home and united and Everton away
So do we
And if we keep winning eventually we play first and gap is 1 point
Then see if the pressure rises
All big ifs and for me they are big favourites but if it did get to 1/2 points remember qpr match!!!
Only need a sending off or a bad decision

Absolutely this. I don't watch MOTD, SSN or any build up to our games, and I rarely, rarely watch any football other than City. And I'm so much happier for it.

I used to look forward to Football Focus every Saturday lunchtime, but I haven't watched it for so long I'd forgotten it even existed. It's just endless interviews with inarticulate journeyman players and then back to the studio for an hour or so of moronic, inane waffling from the so-called 'pundits'.

The BBC has dumbed down now to such an extent that it might as well not exist.

Fair points, well made.. especially the latter regarding the absolute joy that it is to go to our ground every couple of weeks and see this collection of players we have nowadays. Every member of the squad is a delight to witness playing football at the levels they produce.

As for MOTD2 last night, well it was a slight improvement on last week's (particularly on that airhead Jenas and his 'reasoning' for why he wouldn't have given Bournemouth a penalty at Everton..) but it still had the usual selective editorialising in favour of particular, well worn narratives whilst airbrushing other, equally significant incidents (e.g. the lack of discussion regarding the Sterling 'non-penalty' in particular.. surely, some analysis of the officials' performance with that decision was called for?) And although some critical observations of The Anfield Road Formation Brick Throwers' Society are creeping into the match summations, it still seems that Cairo Fred can throw himself to the floor at will and still get away with cheating week in, week out without any bookings or follow-up sanctions being imposed, let alone it being highlighted by the numpties on the MOTD sofa. And I'm not going to hold my breath for MOTD or any of our so-called media providers of football in this country to ever start looking at the broader issues affecting the game, especially from the point of view of investigative journalism..

For investigative journalists we would need Kalle Blomqvist and Lisbeth Salander to sort all the corrupt bastards in in the EPL. I like your thinking though ;)
