Never mind in those circumstances, in any circumstances. That free kick was up there with Elano’s against the geordies.

I am unashamed to say I still have the Elano shirt I purchased that day.

I’ll be picking up my Sane shirt tomorrow.

I was questioning your claim about consistency but no worries you’ve played the ‘pep thinks’ card.
 
For those that watch the training videos on YouTube, you can see Leroy practising that free kick over and over. Practise makes perfect, as they say.

It was like watching a peak Ronaldo free kick.

When you see him score a goal like that, it’s no wonder many on the forum say that he has the highest ceiling of all our young players.

And furthermore, the thing I found most frustrating was it took a red card in the 68th minute rather to force a change. When it happened I actually weirdly felt relieved as I thought it might finally give us the kick up the arse and force the changes we needed.

The lineup I can accept. There's been a few team selections that have left me scratching my head this season, but majority of the time they've paid off and you have to just defer to the manager's better judgement. It was obvious we were lacking spark last night though and it was odd to me that we did nothing to change things until we were forced to relatively late in the game.

This is the price we pay for having such a talented squad. No point in trying all these different scenarios to shoe horn players in. Just live with the the fact and be delighted we have such concerns

I don't think it's shoehorning though. If anything moving Bernardo out wide to accommodate a sub par Silva and KDB is shoehorning.

Not quite. Pep made them comments after Bernardo was playing centrally.

You could argue Bernardo is being played out of his best position to accommodate others.

No he didn't.

Pep said Bernardo was in the top 3 players in the league on Tuesday, after Bernardo played on the right 3 games in a row against Chelsea (6-0), Everton (2-0) and Arsenal (3-1).

He said "To drop Bernardo Silva right now is almost impossible. It’s him and 10 more players right now" after the Arsenal game where he played on the right.

He also said very similar after the Liverpool game.

Bernardo isn’t influencing the games as much out wide.
I couldn’t agree more, he should be starting every game, but not at the expense of Sané.

It’s a hard call, but it should be Bernardo & one of Gundogan, Silva or De Bruyne.

Last night saw our best 4 performers this season all out of their strongest position.

I’m one of Pep’s biggest fans, but I think he’s taking the easy option leaving Sané out.
 
He should be in the starting 11, Sane, Sterling and Aguero is the best front 3.

Bernando Silva should be moved to the middle and as others have said one of KDB or Gundo alongside. I don't think D.Silva makes our 11 at the moment.
 
That was a fucking brilliant free-kick. Very similar to the one against Hoffenheim earlier this season. As the BT commentators said, he seemed to know exactly where the ball would end up long before he took the kick.

What a tool to have in our locker for the next five to ten years. It will scare opposing coaches and defenders shitless for years to come.

It’s like having fake without the vanity.
