Swansea (QF) Post Match thread

We scored a couple of lucky goals.... but there's absolutely no way we were lucky to win. 22 shots and 70% possession... totally deserved to go through

agreed we were lucky, but think we earned some good luck, any other day those missed chances would have gone in. its a win, bring on the next round

Today was one of our off days, we were shocking.

However lady luck smiled on us for once and fortunately there was no VAR, or we may well have lost 2-1.

Should always start with your strongest team with a Final just round the corner, but how was Pep to know that Delph would be so reckless and they would score with their only clear cut chance.

I think playing Delph with so few games under his belt was an error, however the bigger error was starting with that waste of space Mahrez he is truly dreadful.

The vast majority out in the 'BBC/Rag/Dipper' world will clutch at any straw in an attempt to gains some moral high ground despite what actually happened on the pitch. Swansea had two shots, probably the same as Leicester, Palace had three, and NUFC probably had a couple. Other than that we give teams a battering. The only game I think I have watched over the last few seasons where we scored with nigh on every shot was the CFC game. But there isn't a game which we don't dominate. It might not always flow but we generally are far more ambitious than any team we play. The notion of who 'deserves' to win is one of football's complete irrelevances. Who gets the ball in the net, legitimately or not?

17 seconds after the commentator said that somehow Aguero's name isn't on the scoresheet, he scores.

Swansea fans should know to blame Darke for this.

Bit of an issue that we concede so many times from so few chances conceded but other than that you are right.

Thought we deserved the win today, Fair play to Swansea they gave it their all, Some fabulous blocks and last ditch tackles along with some heroic goalkeeping.
The second goal we conceded was horrendous, Walker caught up field and no cover from Mahrez...There's no doubt about it that we wouldn't of conceded that goal if Fernandinho had been on the pitch he would of been their to cover.
Great comeback absolutely chuffed we got the job done.
Come on city!

Seen enough of Mahrez now to conclude that he ain't up to the level City require. His attitude to me is all wrong and despite showing the odd bit of quality is far too predictable and generally cannot beat his man. Thought as much watching him at Leicester and nothing's changed. Some might say that he has still scored goals but do we really feel we have got our moneys worth? Not for me.

Not great but at least the goals were at our end. Mahrez continues to frustrate and Bernard just gets better.
Chippy in Newtown on way down and McD in Newtown on way back. Can't beat a big of symmetry. And Wolves made it a great day.

Didn’t Leicester try and hold out for £90 million?

VAR,regards Aguero,s goal and the offside, think back to Schalke away, free kick into City penalty area, two possibly three offside, afoul was committed, penalty say the VAR experts the foul over rides the off side.Todays Aguero goalas he was diving to head the ball the defender w
Had his two hands on Aguero,s back pushing him down.VAR if the rules are consistent mean that a penalty would have to be given.Luckwas with us and a goal was given. If no goal a penalty would be given. But knowing us bugger all would have been given.

I would disagree with much of that, apart from bringing money into it at the end, which is what our critics always do about us. It isn’t our fault what we have to pay for players, the “City price” is not a new phenomenon.

Don't be silly mate.

We were very, very lucky. Never a pen for us and Serge half a yard offside. This place would be in fucking meltdown were the boot on the other foot. As for BT commentary, it was very fair, no hype when they scored, very complimentary to us when we fought back. In a nutshell, we got out of jail.

Nblade was at it again in the match day thread!

Called us an embarrassment- should face a match day thread perma ban!
