General Videogame Thread

Because just webswinging around New York is so fun all the little side-missions and 'collectible' stuff is great fun as well as the story. The only bits I've not really been a fan of are the small missions where you take control of another character but other than that its incredible.
Yep, some of the cut scenes blend in so well with the combat it felt like I was watching a film at times.

This seems really common, but honestly, I've never done it. Just don't walk around with your gun out?
But often I'll get a ping on the map as I'm riding by, so I'll stop to find someone being robbed or what have you - don't worry I'll come to the rescue and kill the raiders, then attempt to talk to the person I've saved, and bam I'm aiming my gun at them because the gun is naturally out at this stage and they leg it, so naturally they end up amongst the corpses. Seems common that a lot of NPC interactions are preceded by shooting things!

haha.

Here's something I didn't find out until late in the game, if you double tap L1 with a revolver out, Arthur puts it in his holster in a stylish way

Anyone got any tips for aiming and shooting on ps4 controllers, trying to play last of us, and can't get my head around it. used to using a pc mouse and keyboard.

Last of us unfortunately has very poor aiming mechanics (to be honest movement mechanics in general. It drove me mad). It's going to feel shit no matter what you do. Other than that, using a controller you 'aim' with both sticks. Turn to targets with your right stick but make small corrections left and right with your left stick. Different games have different types of aim assist but the main two slow down your crosshair when moving over targets with your right stick, and the other turns you to stay on targets when strafing with your left stick. You want to abuse the latter as much as possible. Set your sensitivity on the lower side of middle, not so much that you feel like you're turning in treacle (though again, LOS is shit for this and will always feel naff to some degree), and practice.

Cheers pal, will give it a got. Just finished spider man and didn't have any probs with that but not a lot of aiming to be done in that one.

Just about to fire it up...

Played all the beta's etc etc but there's no way I'm paying 80-100 quid for early access.

Argos fucked my delivery up so they basically gave me the gold edition for the price of the standard one.

The world is much, much better. Feels like there's far more to do and more crafting etc.

Curious to see what the end game has in store, but it will take up to 40 hours to reach top level by all accounts.

End game apparently bigger than pre game I can't wait for a few days off work to give it a real good bashing I'm at LVL 14. It's not usual for a sequel to be better than the original but this is showing signs it's going to be.

Only level 7 so far. Playing solo but its been a good experience so far. The map is much better and far more places to explore.

Level 10 now. Been playing with 3 mates and we are trying to tailor our load outs to complement each other. It's still fussy as hell, why do I have to hold down the F key for 2 seconds before anything happens or any button for that matter, there far too many screens to navigate through to do anything, enemies pop up in the middle of other fights, broadcast side missions that have you needing to keep resetting the damn thing, sofas blocking stairs for no reason, if you don't want us going up the stairs just don't put them in, and as it's Ubisoft it's impossible to get the free game they promised for pre-ordering, just get another log in screen and nothing happening.

Still, it's The Division 2, it's a good co-op game, the map is better, bit too much detail if I'm honest but I know it's aimed at the console kiddies, the story is still bollocks and the bosses are satisfyingly hard in places.

I'm really enjoying it too. Map is great and beautiful to look at in 4K. InI on Xbox one x. Story is bollocks but you dontd really play these types of games for that. It's more of the the loot/grind which Ubisoft have done really well. Lots of free content coming soon.

At level 12 but looking forward to the endgame as it's supposed to be really good
