Theresa May

From day one this government has sought ride roughshod over parliament and our democracy. If its not trying to deny parliament a vote and scrutiny over the deal, then it’s using Henry VIII powers to cherry pick and white wash out the laws they don’t want. Or the contempt for Parliament from the attorney General had when not handing over the legal advice on no deal Brexit. Yesterday was another failed attempt from May to try and force through her deal by representing the same deal again and again and rightly so.
Let’s hope that yesterday was a watershed moment that her deal is dead and its time to consult and find a consensus which is how it should have been in the first place. But it wouldn’t surprise me to see them flogging the dead horse yet again as the desperation sets in that the further we go beyond the 29th the closer May goes to leaving number 10.

Interesting to see the NZ Prime Minister showing a balance of Leadership and compassion to a grieving NZ - makes it so apparent just how deficient May is, a robot, devoid of feelings and operating (badly) in a Whitehall bubble.
She never has been and never will be a good leader and she only became leader by the default of the opposition bottling it and pulling out. Her only redeeming quality is that she is an ultra loyalist to the party and she lives and breaths the tory ideology. I read this somewhere that she is renown for attending every single social event she can, and has gone to great lengths to do so. That has not gone unnoticed along with the fact that once all this shit is over they need someone to through under the bus might as well be Theresa this most certainly being her last gig before she goes to the Lords.

Not a chance... the Tories are do split that none of the so called front runners will get it. A compromise candidate will be required but personally I thing the ERG will break away and form its own British Conservative Party, while the Tory left will join with the Lib Dem’s and some Right of centre Labour politicians to form a new centre party. There will be a whole realignment of British politics post Brexit.

It is certainly needed, but I fear that most won't have the courage to jump.

If this story from the Independent is true May is well and truly fucked and that means we are too.

Theresa May has admitted the country is in crisis as she prepares to write to the EU explaining her next steps with Britain heading towards a no-deal Brexit in ten days.

The prime minister’s spokesman argued that a crisis had now “come to pass”, as Ms May warned it would after the House of Commons rejected her Brexit deal last week.

Her plan has always been to run down the clock and then threaten no deal or no Brexit/long extension against her deal has backfired. The EU are pretty pissed with May right now and her ineptness played right into their hands. The EU will offer an extension but it will be on their terms and she knows that and that fact that Boris has said he won't support a deal (along with others) tells me that him being in number 10 wasn't for a cosy chat and bit of arm twisting please support my deal.

Going off what Barnier is saying that extension can only happen if

1. Significant changes in Brexit ie softer
2. General Election
3. Peoples Vote

Evidently they have had enough of he telling them that she can bulldoze her deal through with a bit more time. The shit has really hit the fan for Theresa first Bercow now Barnier stitched up like a kipper!

According to the Beeb, the EU are making plans for an emergency summit on 28/29. I think the expectation is that they will play hardball this week but will leave her with a way out provided she can get something passed next week.

All of this is because she refuses to accept she has lost. Her deal has been voted down twice, it's hugely unpopular. She dragged it to the end so the timing is her fault. There are numerous things that she could do she just refuses to contemplate doing them.

Dragging her deal to the very end was the only hope it ever had of being accepted though. If we have a year to go, she could put it before parliament 10 times and MPs were tell her to fuck off with it every time.

I really don't see the EU giving her the leeway to try and bully her deal through. They have enough of her promising to get her deal through and then failing so spectaculary would you? What is the point of her being given more time to come back to the same point again after a delay?
As Barnier said she needs something substantial to justify an extension. A wing and prayer and might just get through is no longer gonna cut the mustard.

That is the ignorance and arrogance of the women welded to the ideology that this is the only deal in town.

Under the current circumstances I would be surprised if all 27 member states agree to an extension of any sort. I think ultimately she will have to withdraw article 50 (then call a general election)

Yep, those pesky international peace treaties being used to get in the way of Brexit. Disgusting behaviour by everyone.

Well if you still think that the backstop is all about the GFA - fair play mate

Meanwhile - in the real world where the EU negotiators reside and all things are not just pink and fluffy

Well TBF to her she has at least been able to unite the people - whether Leave or Remain

We all think she is utterly useless

WOOSH

Yes, I do absolutely think that the GFA is the true purpose of the backstop. I do realise that respecting an international peace treaty means precisely fuck all to your average Brexiter and that because you are looking at it from a particularly warped perspective you feel able assume that people are exploiting it merely to stop your precious Brexit but it is important you don't judge everyone else by your own miserably low standards.

Today she's playing the "I'm as frustrated as the public" card, trying to position herself away from the debacle that she has caused largely on her own.

Parliament is to blame as they have refused to take a decision. In other words back her universally unpopular WA, as unpopular with the public as with MPs.

She is devious as well as useless.

But the EU would play a blinder here by delaying the decision which they are doing until next week, then come back there's only a long delay on the table take it or leave it. Which she will then have to take or face the risk or being in content with parliament over the delay vote and fucking the country up with No Deal which would destroy her party and make them unelectable for generations to come.
