The odds are very much in favor of a Liverpool Barcelona CL semi final and I think these games could have a huge bearing on the Premier league
If Liverpool get taken apart there will be huge psychological damage, in fact the way they're scraping through games, Porto could even give them a fright

I think it’s more likely that Liverpool will take Barca apart.

We have so many games and therefore more risk of injuries and tiredness and that could take its toll.

The only comp we're in that they aren't is the FA cup. That's only one game more (this saturday) as if we make the final it's after the league has finished.
If they go out of the CL to Porto and we beat Spurs to make the semis it's two more games while the league is still on-going.
That's a total of three matches. I don't see that as an issue, especially when the quality of our squad is taken in to account.
The only issue is which matches are winnable or points to be dropped. Again, not sure our run-in is that much worse considering our squad.

Barcelona are a different kettle of fish in europe ??? and at home they are well looked after by the uefa officials and any help they need comes freely, also united are shit and so weak at the back that DDG will have to a special game to stop them scoring in both legs

its so funny liverpool banking on getting by porto with little fuzz and getting way ahead of themselves thinking they are already in the semi final ??? porto are a good team and will be setup to defend and hit liverpool on the brake just like spurs at the weekend but spurs wasted 3 or 4 golden chances that would have given them the game i don't see porto giving away 3 or 4 golden chances

dark horse are ajax and looked world beaters vs madrid and ronaldo is coming to the end of his carer and juve are also banking on him to shine but he can have a off day, so city or spurs will have a very hard game in the semi

A lot has been made of Mike Dean getting his 100th red card, and very few better candidates than Young being the recipient, however it got me thinking I dont remember him ever sending off a scouser, So off to the stats I went and turns out I was wrong and he managed to send off "big Dunc" for Everton, however he's never sent a Liverpool player off which seemed strange given how long he has been around.

He has ref'ed some of they games but a really low number, does anyone know why?

For any of the curious types the list prior to Mr Youngs addition last night is

He's not scared of two red cards in a match is he? And three in a match on two occaisions (or was it three?)

Not at all also in games wheres hes sent a play off involving City its 9-9, just goes to show you remember the ones against your team more, but 18% of his red have been in games involving us. The other team where hes sent 9 players off are Chelsea, buts hes only sent 4 player against Chelsea so they probably have good reason to cringe when he gets their games :-) but 31% of his reds have been in matches involving City or Chelsea, a statistical anomaly? he doesn't like blue?

The only comp we're in that they aren't is the FA cup. That's only one game more (this saturday) as if we make the final it's after the league has finished.
If they go out of the CL to Porto and we beat Spurs to make the semis it's two more games while the league is still on-going.
That's a total of three matches. I don't see that as an issue, especially when the quality of our squad is taken in to account.
The only issue is which matches are winnable or points to be dropped. Again, not sure our run-in is that much worse considering our squad.

Another league game slotted in tonight. Then games every few days. Spurs are tougher than Porto but the away trip is less of a journey at least. But should we get to the semi finals it is so hectic around that time. And we have to consider the games we have already played.

We have a better squad and it might boil down to what many of us thought early in the season, they will over rely on the front three and Van Dijk and burnout. They haven't yet but pressure mounts, games are hyped more and mentally it is a challenge. And a key player could be injured at any time.

A liverpool side with Lallana, Shaqiri and Origi is miles away from us having Aguero Sterling Bernardo or Sane Jesus Mahrez.

For my dream of us winning the league at United to come true, we now need Liverpool to lose 2 and draw 1 to Southampton, Chelsea and Cardiff.

I'm not as confident as I was before...but never say never.

I love rawk…
Bored of hearing about Spurs' new stadium. Looks soulless to me.

only Liverpool have the best stadium in the world, as they have the best team, the best fans, (murders aside), the bestist song etc etc etc

fuck them the scouse ****s its what we do that counts
It absolutely is, it's in our hands, but we have some tough games coming up, and Liverpool do seem to be having a lot of luck which should have run out by now.

Just noticed Liverpool play Chelsea the day before the 30th anniversary of Hillsborough, that is going to ramp up the atmosphere a bit and the pressure.
