There's no chance mendy starts this in my opinion. Not really been any signs that he's going to be thrown in has there?

I think Pep might start with a midfield of Fernandinho-David Silva-De Bruyne to prepare them for Tuesday and make changes earlier in the second half if we are comfortably leading.
A this stage I have given up predicting what Pep will do. Seems likely Kun won't start and neither will Mendy. After that who knows. With Kev seemingly back to his best will be start him or keep him fresh for Spuds? Foden I thought was excellent last night bar one mistake right at the end of the game, and might be worthy of another start. Maybe the midfield trio missing last night will start who knows. Not sure I would go along with the odds currently on offer but this really is a game we should win and hopefully a lot easier than Swansea. The final, however, could be a different kettle of fish.

Given that the team selected for the 3rd round against Rotherham was Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden, Mahrez, Jesus and Sterling, I think it's fair to say that Guardiola takes this competition seriously. I expect a very strong side to be put out.

Ederson
Danilo Kompany Otamendi Mendy
Bernardo Gundagon Silva
Sterling Jesus Sane

Spurs on Tuesday takes priority over this one so it's a tough call to name the team. I expect last night's absentees to all be back but he might go with Kompany/Otamendi at the back. I don't expect Mendy to start as he's clearly out of favour but I do expect Jesus to get the nod.

Little concerned if we go completely full-strength against Brighton. Because we have such a hard fixture list in the next 2-3 weeks. Playing Spurs 3 times, palace away as well as the rags at the swamp.

We don't really have games were we can play our "B" team.

Yeah it’s tough. He’d have wanted to make zero subs last night if it was possible, to fully rest all 7 changes.

Even though spurs is the bigger game if rather go strong in this game. Hopefully be in control and substitute than have to bring on the big guns to chase the game and maybe even take to extra time which would be a disaster

Well, we kind of did last night with 7 changes. It's just that the squad is so strong it still looks like a first choice team.
