FA Cup Final - 18/05 1700hrs

I looked at staying further out but the reason I like a hotel is i can walk to and from Wembley and not have to queue for transport. The bloody kick off time has caused this, if it was 3pm you could get home easily on the day.

To be honest whilst the number of people queuing for trains at Wembley Park is high, I think they manage it well and it’s not particularly stressful. The stress bit is worrying about whether you can get a train for me but trains to MK are very frequent and run until late at night so no worry. I like to stay in the stadium if we win until the celebrations are over and it’s a shame that so many can’t do this with transport to get.

The kick off times are a joke. The FA trying to make as much money as possible from the TV companies. When there are no other games it should be 3pm or 4pm at the latest

Totally agree.

I am the same as you mate. I take my wife (even though she doesn’t go to the game).we always stay at the holiday Inn, we get there early, have a few drinks, I go to the game while she chills out in the room. Back to the hotel for post match drinks, then we go for a meal in the evening. No transport stress. I was lucky this time, I had enough points on their loyalty scheme as they wanted over £300 for the Saturday night.

I am gobsmacked at the prices being quoted and I think they will get burnt. As I said earlier I stayed at the Hilton for the Wigan final and that was £175. While the location is great and the room was nice it was just a bed at the end of the day. To charge over £400 now is absolutely ridiculous.

You look at the price of the tickets, ridiculous lack of transport and you wonder why you bother. They are taking the piss out of football fan's because they can, because of the emotional pull of supporting your team. I am.probably just getting old.

I just think the 'stooping' description gives the impression of falling onto the ball.

He ended up full length on the ground. Anyone who knows the slightest thing about headers would class it as a diving header! The BBC are just a bunch of wankers who want to downgrade anything that a City player might do! Diving header. Perhaps they're still waiting for VAR to disallow it for stooping. And for Taylor to book him for 'aggressive stooping'!

Give over.

I'd booked the IBIS London Wembley which is now sold out for the sat night for £185, it's just a reservation that can be cancelled for free £185 for 2 people.

We are now going down on the coach and returning the same day so if anyone wants the room and me to transfer it to their name send me a pm and I'll transfer it otherwise I'll just cancel it. I booked it ages ago on the off chance but if I cancel it for them to re sell they will charge a lot more than £185 I reckon!

Behave we 50-50 to win fa cup we 50-50 to win the league .dont count your chickens as you might not even get an omlette

50/50?!
Please never open a bookmakers as you will be bust within a week :/
We are 1/7 to lift the FA cup and 8/15 to win the PL!
50/50 is even money. If you fancy laying the double both at at evens I'll take £100 now ;)

We normally stay at the Ibis but noticed that the Novotel (in the same group as Ibis but up market) was cheaper, so booked there.

It was a toss up of stay over for the Final and miss the Semi or go to both and not stay over. So I chose the latter. It doesn't matter if I cancel it it won't cost me a £1 but if someone wants it then I'll transfer it to them.

Still able to book a travelodge 9 stops away with one change for £60 and free parking. Not the closest but a good pub at the change and near M1 and A1,

I said if we win. I wanted to know who we would play in the Community Shield as normally it's league winner vs Cup winner.

The league is very tight, marginally in City's favour perhaps and the FA Cup we're favourites but nowhere near 7 to 1 on. That's a probability of 87.72% which is clearly way over-stating the likelihood of City winning. If those were the real odds then we would not have had Southampton, Wigan, Wimbledon, Wigan, and Coventry.

First v Second of the PL ;)
It's my vision and dream to see the Scousers come to Wembley to fight for a wooden runners up spoon.
It would be brilliant to play Liverpool in the Community Shield having won the double.
