Liverpool thread 2018/19

And this is the problem I have with SOME of your supporters. I am literally here right now, as a Liverpool fan, condoning the throwing of flares, I don't know a single person who believed smashing apart a team bus is atmosphere. I don't travel to away games without tickets and con my way into stadiums. What you are describing simply isn't a reflection of Liverpool supporters and is merely the actions of a tiny tiny minority who are thugs which every single club has. I've already given similar incidents from your own fans.

I agree every team has its idiots but I went to the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough game against us. Stood with everyone and observed an impeccable minutes silence - City put a lovely piece in the programme and your ‘idiots’ bricked our coaches - as was reported in the Daily Mail. City supporters were impeccable that day but a sizeable number of LFC fans were a disgrace- as they were with the bus incident last year - but whenever you guys do wrong it’s brushed over by the Liverpool living media.

You see I simply don't agree with you. The biggest selling newspaper in the UK is banned in the majority of Liverpool shops because of the evil it printed. Yet you're sitting here telling me the Media are a Liverpool loving wankfest. Liverpool have had their fair share of hatred in the media. All the media outlets came out and branded Liverpool supporters a disgrace after the bus attack. I simple don't know what you mean by brushing over it. It was huge news.

You obviously didn't have the sky commentary on the game yesterday with ,spitboy and Tyler it was sickeningly biased.

The Sun is clearly informally banned in Liverpool but it’s bent over backwards to try to get you back on board - all to no effect I’m pleased to say. It’s all about opinions but there is a very positive LFC press right now - largely because of the number of ex LFC players employed in the media - Sky Sunday couldn’t get more Liverpool fans in the studio. I noticed you brushed over our coaches getting bricked !

This is pointless. I've been calling out the fans who bricked the coaches, threw the flares for the last 1 hour. I've branded Salah a disgrace for his diving. I've literally condemned every act you've highlighted to me. yet Inchy is saying "The difference in fan bases is ours will get called out on it by ourselves, you lot can see no fucking wrong in anything you do. " after I've literally called out the fans for the last hour.

Liverpool have been lucky this season several times. So have City. Offside goals in key premier league matches. Offside last minute goals in the FA Cup. Whoever wins the league deserves it 100% and if Liverpool do finish second which I still believe they will because City are a better side then it's still a magnificent season. We are runners up of the champions league, haven't lost at home in 2 and a half years, best defense in the league despite having played a game more yet still were branded as a crap team who has bribed and cheated their way to the top of the league. Why can't we just respect each other.

Let’s recognise that the media will never give us credit, whatever happens for the rest of this season. Even if Liverpool lose the remaining games and we win them all, the media will claim Man U and Spurs waved the white flag to prevent Saint Dippers from their Holy Grail. Might as well play under 18s for the rest of the EPL fixtures, to keep the media onside.

This is what I mean by some of the disgusting stuff posted on both forums. I would love you to find me a single person who supports Liverpool that would condone throwing flares at children in the crowd. You won't find any. You just spout this venom on the forums. You will always have absolute morons in every football club. prime example were the group of City fans who were tearing up advertisement boards and throwing missiles at the police after you lost to Wigan in the FA Cup. The difference is I'm not an idiot and I don't go round saying "is it just banter" because I'm an adult.

Salah is a disgrace for diving the way he does and I'll be there with you all condemning it. It's not wanted in the game. But lets face it, he isn't the only one. Stirling also throws himself to the ground repeatedly, so much so that Pep had to come into a post game interview and admit it was a disgraceful decision from the referee. City v Shaktar for reference. The delusion is that you attack other clubs and act like you arn't getting dubious decisions yourself, the previous example in a champions league game highlighting that. Plenty of offside goals for city recently for example the Aguero last minute goal v Swansea. Again, lucky Liverpool right.

I’m sure others have already answered you, but I’ll add my two penn'th.

Firstly, the penalty against Shakhtar was not a dive; Raheem stubbed his foot on the turf. It wasn’t his place to correct the officials, just like Salad hasn’t corrected them every time he’s had an attack of cramp in the opponents' box.

Secondly, it might have escaped your attention, but Swansea are no longer a member of the Premier League and the result of our game will have no bearing on the destination of the title in May; it was an FA Cup tie. I’m sure you remember that competition. It was one of two that Klippety decided not to compete for, so that your shower would have less games to play and more time to go swanning around the world.

The Merseyside Police have just issued a statement regarding the incident with the flare

'After studying video footage of the incident there is clear evidence to show the flare was thrown from the area where the visiting Chelsea supporters were stood. the flare, when thrown hit a Liverpool supporter on the hand before falling back into the Chelsea supporters where it unfortunately injured a young fan. The action of hitting the Liverpool supporters hand gives the impression that it was thrown by him. We can state that this is not the case and happy to clear that misunderstanding up..

And the smoke wasn't red just dark pink so eliminates any Liverpool connection

I mentioned this in the matchday thread yesterday, but despite Sty having several ex-Liverpool players in its pundit team, there was not one former City player amongst them.

Are you seriously going to suggest there is no other evidence out there saying Man City players have dived? Like I said, confirming the delusion guys. Keep going!

The point is, City are benefiting MASSIVELY from bad referee decisions and luck as are Liverpool. The 2 incidents I mentioned could easily have impacted both champions league progression and FA cup progression making your quadruple bid a double at best. Who knows. The point is the bias and total ignorance of your own teams benefit from decisions is crazy.

And to karen7, Ahh yes, sensible. Never challenge opinions. Great advice.

You cited an occasion when Sterling didn't dive but got the benefit of a very poor decision to back up your claim that he is a diver. Having had that pointed out to you, you now want us to find the evidence to prove your incorrect point. Fact is Sterling has an undeserved reputation as a diver. If we could be arsed we could point out several occasions he has been fouled but no penalty given.

Scouser in attack on Sterling shocker!

What is it with you backing up your argument with shite examples ? We all know about the Sun and it's poison you don't have to buy newspapers to hear the opinions of the football journos who are all over talkshite 5 live and Sunday cesspit on sky. Couple that with a horde of ex Liverpool players on the punditry gravy train, witness the impartial panel yesterday, the way they delay the ad break before kick off as though YNWA is the national fucking anthem and the constant references to history and famous European nights. Compare that with the constant negativity we receive and tell me its neutral.
