We are ridiculously short odds to win (1.40), to put it into context Spurs were 1.33 to beat Brighton at home last night! I have layed £1000 against us winning tonight to soften the blow if the unthinkable happens.

Didn't feel like derby day when I woke up. Just another must win game.

But as the morning wears on derby day nerves are setting in.

Have to win this one, as well as local pride it's the title up for grabs here.

Win our game in hand and can see Liverpool stuttering, likely not this weekend against Huddersfield but the closer we get to the end, if we are still leading then the realisation will hit home that Liverpool can't dive, brick or offside their way to the title after all. To get there we must, must, must win tonight.

Mendy should definitely start if fit.
Spuds were gash on Saturday but still could have scored 3 by simple 30/40 yard diagonal punts for Son to chase and he won every one.
Mendy should sit in at set pieces as cover for Kompany and/or Laporte.
 
The fucking plastic scouser next door but one was desperate for a conversation this morning. Gobbing off in the playground when I was dropping my daughter off at school to anyone who’d listen. As I followed him back down our street, he’s fist pumping at a plastic rag who was driving to work. Embarrassing behaviour from a clown who has never been to Anfield.

There is no way the Scousers are going to drop any further points and I for one will be gutted if we only come away with only 1 point tonight.

It will not be over tonight. It is very important but will mean nothing if we draw at Burnley or Liverpool draw at Newcastle.

If we score early, I hope we don't go into "energy saving mode" as we did against Newcastle, Brighton in the FA Cup, both games against Leicester, etc. Even without De Bruyne, we're a much better team, we need to play our football, with the intensity we've been known for, and the rest will look after itself. Please not another performance and team selection like we had vs Spurs in the first leg of the CL, Pep. This United team is there for the taking.
 
4 cup finals. We have to win them all and it's as black and white as that.

I never like these games regardless but even less so when they've just come off a hiding. There will be a reaction.

At the end of the day, if we play our game to the max of our ability we will win, because we are a better side.
 
According to the Daily Fail, they’re doing a light training session at The Cliff this morning to reinforce their sense of history. If I was one of their underperforming players I’d be a bit nervous if the paperboy wanted to recreate another bit of their history.
