I find it highly unlikely that any player could go un-noticed. The amount of scouts that circle youth teams is off the scale. Most of the coaches of the better teams are either affiliated with a club or they have declined to be affiliated, at the games the scouts are an ever present. That said they are well keen and i reckon if you tip them of they will send someone.

I'm 43 next year and at least 1 stone overweight, currently play 5 a side every Wednesday after work. I will give it 1 more year then finally accept that the call is not going to come.
