Champions League Semi Finals 30th April/1st May

Spurs have been poor, but Ajax haven't impressed either, they certainly press, but often give it straight away again, I didn't see the first 20 minutes.

Looked like they burnt themselves out, after that. Either that or they'd done their
homework and decided that Spurs wouldn't score.

I was talking about City.

But I'd have loved to have played both of those & Bayern Munich. And Ajax.

When you said "it's Spurs..." it came across as if it's only Spurs and you were discussing Ajax. Therefore, I was merely pointing out that Ajax had beaten Juve and Madrid, amongst others.
I see Ajax as having a similar style to CITY and I reckon City will be keeping tabs on the Manager. Could possibly be a successor to Pep? Hopefully, PEP sticks around for a few more years yet, though!!

I agree that all those teams would have been good to compete with, as I honestly believe that CITY are actually the best team in Europe.

Pity we missed out. Still gutted but, hopefully, we WILL win the Treble.

I thought most of what I watched was pretty average, as I said missed first 20 minutes, but overall I thought Ajax were the better side.

Kinda with you. Ajax good first 15/20, then not a lot of quality although Ajax unlucky to not score the second when they hit the post...

The Barca I watched didn't & don't play against such relentless, organised negativity.

It's that & the physicality, that causes the fitness issues.

You lot play more parked buses than we did during that first year from 08-09, I am not debating it but that's also English football. In Spain, many opponents tried to attack and even in CL they initially tried to attack as well but after '09 few had the courage to play an open game. As I say, that term got coined from Mourinho's tactics against Barcelona

But there's no question for me it's more about the absurdity of playing 4 competitions (One of FA or Carabao has to go) and the other is simply bad luck with untimely key injuries that prevented you guys from really maintaining any sort of rhythm. The lack of attacking/overlapping fullbacks is glaringly absent from a Pep coached team - that's why I don't buy the Mendy rumours, they have to fortify at FB(s)

Tomorrow’s papers will say what a great result it was getting beat 1-0 at home and that spurs are now favourites to go through

Spurs won their cup final at the Etihad ironically by losing that game.
I genuinely think having got past us cost them loads of energy. They’ve been off it ever since.
F@@k off Spurs....we could have won this comp.

I had no doubts they would win tonight much less the tie, Ajax are great to watch. They suffered though as Poch looks like he had his team double down on being more physical and it translated to success for long stretches - Lahoz is handy for that sort of approach. Although ultimately all they could really do was lump it into the box

I expect a battering at Cruyff Arena with a less lenient referee. Hope Vertonghen is ok

Here's hoping for a good start tomorrow that perhaps eventually will lead to a Cruyff CL Final

I had a feeling Ajax would do them and lo and behold it comes to pass. The signs are all pointing to a Barca vs Ajax final which would be a dream for UEFA from a marketing perspective.
