Haha not quite what I was thinking but might put the idea into their heads all the same. He's making some great runs outside Coutinho early and they've not tried to set him loose once so far.

He's lost his physicality and can't take over games like he used to, but his time under Pep has really improved his passing, and he's picked up quite a few second balls in dangerous situations so his reading of the game seems to be better, which is probably why he's still at this level and not in MLS like Rooney.

I just think he is Stage 2 Rooney.

With Stage 3 onset next season.
