Stifling English talent again?

Apparently, selecting the massively experienced & influential club captain fro a critical fixture indicates 'just how low Stones stock has fallen' and that Pep's trust in Stones has disappeared.

Or alternatively... the worlds best football manager having had full visibility of training and the players current condition, decides to select the club captain, over the future club captain. A decision vindicated by an outstanding defensive performance capped by a crucial goal.

Doesn't have the same ring to it though I suppose...

Just checked Talk sports Twitter feed and it would seem the vast majority of fans who have tweeted are in agreement with Pep. Oops.

They're talking about it on TS.... they've come up with some piece with their staff saying who they want to win the league.... gloss over Saunders (And other lfc pundits) but hey, it turns out that all their staff wanted City to win. ycmiu.

They have thousands of tweets from footy fans agreeing with Pep and how we all know the bias for LFC, but TS deny any bias. LOL what a joke they are. So much fun listening to them today
Saturday night I was down the pub, not my regular, with a neutral mate of mine.
He’s not hugely into football now. Used to support Spurs when we were kids.
Anyway we were seated up at the bar and 3 or 4 pints in he’s telling me how he’d like Liverpool to win as they hadn’t done it before and started giving me the usual media guff.
I spent the next ten minutes explaining exactly what was going on with FFP, with Cartels, with the media and just how devious Liverpool United and Arsenal have been.

Just as he’s replying and mentions Liverpool, the Barman delivering two more Guinness goes into the most glorious rant how he’s sick to death of hearing about how great Liverpool and Klopp are.
He proceeds to launch into a tirade and says you don’t hear anything about what City are achieving and will achieve again this season. Says City are winning this league as they won’t drop points and Pep is amazing and you only see all the bias as a neutral.

Who do you support I say. Newcastle he says and they were robbed that evening. I just sit back with my pint and let him launch into another 5 minute tirade basically repeating everything I had just explained.

It’s at this stage that it struck me how much neutrals really hate the Scouse.
Even over here in Dublin.
All my Chelsea and United colleagues think we’re doing the football world a favour and we have to beat Brighton.

Even a West Ham mate is up for us.

Neutral watford fan here. Most of us hate liverpool more than any other prem club and are praying you win the title. The media is stuffed full of them and they dont even try and hide their bias. The papers are full of articles about how they deserve to win it, with no mention of your lots achievements. It will be glorious to see the excuses and the anger if you do it.

Transfermark has our current squad value at £1.02bn and the Rags at £815m. A healthy increase in value for us of almost £200m. More great investment by our successful owner who has already trebled the value of his original investment in the club and that doesn't include the huge profits he is making from his non-football property deals in Manchester. Our enemies like to call him a sugar daddy but he is just a smart businessman who knows how to make money and create jobs. None of our profits come from oil either.
I believe ADUG have also invested in Liverpool (the City not the football club).

That's interesting. I wonder if the scousers sent the "dirty oil" money back for fear of their world-famous city being tainted.
I’m sure they could get their shirt sponsors to launder the ‘dirty oil money’ clean.
They have got form for this kind of thing.

He said everyone, not just the press but sky also need to look at themselves. The following morning, knowing they'd been called out, they drafted in Mike and another lady to acknowledge, refute, and absolve themselves from criticism.
A childish approach to a serious issue.

Thanks for explaining.

I'm curious, after hearing all this and not just from you, what was the reaction of your neutral friend?
