Still baffled about yesterday.

That first half it was clear as day Barca would score. It was only a matter of time.

Wijnaldum came on and Milner went to his "preferred left back role" and it allowed them to completely overload Busquests and Rakitic who completely buckled.

Busquets and Rakitic.

You'd expect far more from them two, and last night was a crisis level performance.

Liverpool kept going and going, but Barca's second half performance was damning.
Over the two legs Liverpool dominated them.

That 3-0 scoreline totally flattered Barca as the game was a lot closer.

Shocking to see experienced players like Alba, who's used to 100k attendances totally bottle it.

Vidal obviously in for his physical prowess just showed his age and limits of his technical ability. Too slow to cope.

As in the first game Liverpool out physiqued them.

Hat's off to them. Still scared of us though.

Need Spurs through.
They'll put it up to them

I don't think spurs will handle giddy pool tbh. Id rather Ajax go all out and try to outplay them.

Can't agree with that at all buddy, Barca should and could have had at least another 2 goals in the first leg but for their messing in the final few minutes. Liverpool had no business even having it a possibility in the second leg, but it was and the dippers tore them apart.

They've only themselves to blame here.

Wouldn't it be great if both sets of fanbases stopped slagging each other off and just enjoyed the fact that English football has now got two of the greatest teams it has had for decades. I think Liverpool's fantastic performance last night will just make our achievement (should we win the Title) even more impressive. I have said all season that to finish ahead of this Liverpool team will be our toughest ever task. Harder than last season. If we end up with all English Champs League and Europa League finals it wll shut up the idiots who have claimed that City are destroying English football. Pep has revolutionised English football and it is more competitive than ever. Long may it last.

Barca should have been out of sight Dembele fcuked up at least 2 goals in the 1st leg.
That said Liverpool were at it last night and i have to admit deserved to go through.
Still don't think it was as good a comeback as us against Spuds in the FA cup 3 nil down at HT and sir Joey getting sent off.

Fucking hell, I know they did well and fair play to them, but the BBC Football front page has 11 separate articles about this one game.

I agree that Barca had a chance to put it to bed but that was more to do with the fact that Liverpool took big risks in the last 10 mins in search of an away goal. It wasn't really to do with how good Barcelona were.

You Know what, I’m resigned to them winning the champions league as long as we do the treble.

Sure the media wankfest will be insane but at Least we’ll get plaudits as well and it’ll be bearable. To be fair to them, they are currently the second best team in Europe, they’re due to win something eventually with all the money they’ve spent!

Plus if we win the treble, Pool the CL and Arsenal the EL, United fans will be in absolute crisis. Lol.

I despise Liverpool more than the rags which people that have seen previous posts will notice. Was furious last night as I was looking forward to some schadenfreude.

However, after some sleep I’ve calmed down and come to realise that apart from a couple of players, like Milner, Salah, Firmino, Fabinho and Henderson, the team is quite likeable.

Their fullbacks are amazing and I would take both TAA and Robertson in a heartbeat. Quite scary what we could do with their quality in our side. With VVD they are set for a couple of years and will be a tough competitor in the future.

Can’t even despise Klopp although I try. Pep and Klopp seem to have the utmost respect for each other and they both make PL the most entertaining league in world football, which tbh is not bad for us. Maybe that leads to Pep staying longer as well. Look at Barca and Bayern how far they’ve dropped from their prime with Pep. Xavi and Iniesta have becom Vidal and Rakitic. Scary.

So although I hate the supporters, red media bias and everything that goes with the cult Liverpool. Hats off and well done.

Let’s hope we don’t fuck up on Sunday, because then I will be miserable. A domestic treble and a Liverpool CL gold I would’ve taken in a heartbeat before the season, so if that’s the outcome, so be it.

I’ll never stop slagging their fans off, it’s just too easy. Have they ever stopped and wondered why everyone hates em, no theyre not jelous. Their fans are just sickening, vomit inducing and deluded. The team, don’t care. Got nout against the players.

Standing ovation for this post.

The amount of bitterness in some of the posts on this and the Spurs thread is a joke. This season City have been unbelievable in their quality and their consistency, but so have Liverpool. There is a fag paper between the two teams, and whoever comes out on top at the weekend will deserve it only slightly more than the other. The best result for all would be for City to win the league and Liverpool to win the CL because it would be unlucky in the extreme for them to not finish this season with a trophy of some sort.

To add to this Spurs who have at times matched the quality of the City and Liverpool but just don't have the depth of squad (particularly given the frailness of Kane) to deliver it on a more consistent basis.

A great season, two genuinely and equally great teams and if you can't see that then i feel sorry for you because you are missing out on how great football can be.

I was actually rooting for them last night, it was a brilliant performance and the result was well deserved. I was genuinely happy for them.

Scouse cnuts being scouse cnuts had to get all scousy.... players arm in arm singing ynwa to the kop and shots of King Kenny, Ian rush and margeret fuckung aspinall made me come to my senses.

The deluded bindippers on RAWK actually thing we’d sacrifice the chances to win a PL on Sunday ( that they bottled) for the possibility of a CL trophy in Madrid. I’m pretty sure 99% of city fans, including me would prefer the PL this year. It means so much more, even more than last year, because of the circumstances that it may be won!! That’s my opinon :-). Cmon city

When I look back to the three Premier league winning seasons, I'm hard pressed to remember who won the Champions League those years.

Don't get me wrong, I attend our Champions League games, and if pushed I might get two out of three.

That's how much I care.

You realise it’s the belittling of our club from all directions that has caused the hatred? Dicks like John Aldridge and Jamie carragher given public platforms to slag us off, carragher wandering through our stadium taking the piss for the cameras. In an ideal world he’d have been locked in an empty room with our security team and givien a right good twatting and told to fuck off and never come back. Bus wrecking and special welcomes also deserve a mention

It’s not the football team I have a problem with

It does feel like the final rounds of the Gatti vs Ward fights. I was well up for them getting battered a couple of rounds ago, but it's just settled into a begrudging respect and exhaustion while being up for it again next year. Our Sunday is nothing to do with them, and the best of luck to them against whoever they get in the final. Would still be backing Ajax as underdogs, mind, but with nothing quite like the intensity with which I backed Madrid in last year's final.
