Unlike Switzerland they are surrounded by hostile enemies like Iran who want to “wipe them from the face of the earth”. Peace will never be achieved in the Middle East, too many extremists posturing for position. Also the Arab Spring whilst admirable in its intention has led to a massive destabilisation in the Region. Israel look after their own but they have their share of sabre rattlers, every negotiation starts with an agreement but always fails, there’s just too much of a divide between intransigent parties who don't have much common ground, religion being the most stubborn obstacle.

Where have you been? Almost on an annual basis global polls regularly reflect exactly that conclusion - in some western countries the poll has actually been revised to avoid ranking countries to avoid continued embarrassment. And this pre-dates the Trump era by a significant time frame, US policies have regularly destabilized the world like no other on multiple levels (War, Arms race, economic/financial, environmental etc)

That's some skewed view of the world if I may say so.
The US is the worlds largest donator towards disasters worldwide, is a functioning democracy, is the go to destination for
most emigrants and is the chief bulwark of NATO. Iran is a theocratic hellhole that persecutes any religion other than Islam,
hangs gay people from cranes and is controlled by misogynists.
I know where I would rather be.

I’ve personally never seen any of these polls.

If they do exist then it goes to show how deluded people are.

Well yeah, but Iran has less capability to actually impose that on anyone else. It's like asking who's worse, Tommy Robinson or Theresa May. Obviously ideologically Tommy Robinson is much worse, but Theresa May is actually in a position to make decisions that will harm people (well, maybe not any more). America are considered by many to be the biggest threat to global security because they're the only power that is capable of (and has a record of) throwing their weight around on a global scale.

Or how deluded people are that don't think the US are the greatest threats to peace on the planet - try a web search and see who comes up the most when it comes to greatest threat to world peace, if the US is topped by any country much less Iran I'd be shocked
