FA Cup Final - Post Match Thread

Just seen some highlights. two moments among many stand out. Kompany in that red & black scarf honouring the club's history, and how proud Mike Summerbee looked as the team went by him with the Cup.

Twenty years ago I was stood queuing at Wembley station for a train back to Euston, still wet through from the soaking on the way to the stadium. Having just seen the team win promotion from the Third Division City fans started up with "You can stick your f*cking treble up your arse", meaning what the rags had just done. Here we are, twenty years on with our own treble for Manchester City, the best team in the land and all the world. I love this club. Thank you, City.

Got on the train and we were going the wrong way, went to Watford.

Guys and gals - this is the time to sit back with that daft grin on your face. It's been a tense couple of months, hell of a title race, but now it's over we can actually sit and realise just how fucking good this team is. They're artists and grafters. Enjoy every minute, we'll be lucky to see it again.

Apparently, they have given the goal to Jesus officially, not sure how going off the half time pics that the BBC showed, that cross section one of the posts and you could see the ball was only two thirds over the line.

Not that it matters but it is just an odd decision to me.

I was under the impression that the old "Club Wembley" seats were now sold by the clubs, presumably to their own fans. Well, I looked up there after a couple of our goals today, and the lack of celebrations in a sizeable number up there told a tale.

The corporate section behind the benches took an eternity to fill up after half time. The half time Rosie Lee must have been exquisite.

And another, for the Guiness book of records.....This season Man City pissed on the chips of more opposition fans than any other club in the history of the world.
The venom being posted on social media is without precedent in it's volume and hatred.
An extremely potent mix of jealousy and barely hidden racism wrapped up in pious nonsense about "the right way", "no merit in buying success", and all the other shite that get's thrown at us, influenced in no small way by the press.
Well, fuck'em.......small price to pay for the sumptuous football we get to watch, the trophies piling up, and the records we've broken. Amen

Spending money was never seen as wrong in the past. For example Brian Clough was lauded for signing trevor francis, the first million pound footballer. Professional football was always about money. These days it's not as acceptable for some reason. Just because it's CITY.

You know fuck all about the game, for years you’ve been the same on here. Not got a fucking clue yet continue to give your views on the team selection as though you know best. Every now and then with hindsight you get one right but all in all you’re a laughing stock.
Steady on mate we've just won the treble, way over the top on blue on blue there.

The only bit I'd disagree with is the part that says opposition fans bitterness is a small price to pay. It's a huge bonus, a testament to how good we are and how they know that we won't be stopped. Rejoice in their hatred and bitterness and let's watch it increase in ferocity as we move up another level or two.

Fuck being everyone's favourite second team as they know they aren't a threat to the team they support.

Why no pictures showing its 11mm over the line or whatever?

Nice charitable ‘time added on’ too in second half - 2 mins when there were 6 substitutions and 4 goals, lol.

A different class. Weathered the first 10 mins of the 2nd half and KDB was like Roy Of The Rovers!

I think Jesus has done enough over the past few weeks to say he is good enough as a back up

Fcukin brilliant.

Hope the Jesus doubters had their opinions changed. Fresh as a daisy and raring to go.

This is some fookin animal football team.
I was one of the doubters and I hold my hands up and say fair play to the lad and he has done well today . Glad that I’ve been proven wrong . Bit narked that they gave that goal to raheem

What a team!

What a manager!

What a season!

The centurions last season, the historians this. M.C.F.C has changed British football beyond recognition.

How are our friends in the media gonna spin this one?
Oh they’ll think of something don’t worry about that :-/

City fan since 4 years old with season tickets at Maine Road with my Dad, and I'm now 53 years old. What a privilege to see us like this. What a fucking privilege.
A lot of fans on the pre match threads and match day threads bitch and bitch, and don't seem to realise we used to be like Villa or Middlesboro or Fulham for years. Just another team making up the numbers and never doing anything ever. Just a bunch of also-rans for decades with the odd nice result to make us happy, but largely failure and endless false hope with "Forward with Franny" and Thai "Frank Sinatra", Sven Goran Eriksson, etc etc ...

Sorry. Feeling quite emotional today, maybe due to beer but I think mainly due to realising how amazing we truly are right now. What a privilege to be a City fan, even if it did take me 40 years to see it. What a privilege.

Community Shield. League Cup. Prem Champions. FA Cup Winners. A UK clean sweep that we likely won't see again for a very very long time, if ever. Never ever imagined as a kid sitting at Maine Road that we'd ever see anything like this. What a day. What a fucking day. So proud. So happy. So drunk.

Thanks lads. Thanks Pep. Thanks City staff. When Pep says we will be better and stronger next season makes me wonder how that is even possible.

History makers. Thanks City, for making this old fart so happy.

Ive had a great day thanks. Now if saying Aguero should start a cup final is wumming i fear for you and this forum. Same with Marhez, absolutely not good enough.proved it today once removed.

Mahrez didn't play that well. He saw lots of the ball, but there was precious little end product.

Plain silly but you’ll probably get away with it while everyone is in a good mood.

Well that was one almighty fuck you to the media and the City haters. The boys cut loose from the tension of the PL and have given us a historic quadruple. Well done to the whole squad. Standouts, Eddie, Vinnie and Laporte, Gundo, Bernie, Mahrez and Raz. Special mention to Gabby and Kev who between them gave us the game. It’s difficult to put into words for those of us of a certain age that have lived through the ups and downs. Thank you Pep. Thank you team. God bless all Blues.

Fantastic end to a fantastic season 3 domestic trophies and 198 points in 2 seasons unbelievable we will only get better

What a fantastic performance, conceded a couple of early chances and then showed our class, credit to Watford for going for it in the second half as it set us up to play the type of football that suits. Make no mistake this treble(quad?) is a superb achievement, dont take any notice of the bitter media or people who talk about the CL, that gets won every single year and has a list of winners as long as your arm while the list of domestic treble winners in England now has a list with just one name on it.........MANCHESTER CITY. What a time to be a blue.
