Why??? I can see him wanting to go out at the top but surely he still has a role to play somewhere??

No chance IMO we haven’t offered him another deal, he’s still one of if not the best CB in the world when fit. Been amazing in the run in.

Seriously though based on his leadership on and off the pitch he's our greatest ever in my view.
 
A very sad piece of news, which will make tomorrow's city centre parade even more poignant. To be honest, he probably suspects that his body might not last the vigours of another title hunting season and medical advice tells him that he needs to lower the intensity. Hopefully he may return in a coaching role. It might persuade The General to stay another year unless Pep already has his replacement contractually secured. My gut feeling is that Merlin and Dinho may follow soon. Good luck Sir Vincent in your future endeavours.
 
Irreplaceable in terms of a personality and leadership. This man has made a huge different to the club which goes so much deeper than what we see on the pitch.

Here’s to you Vincent Kompany, City loves you more than you will know.
 
Our friends over on the caff reckon we'll be going all out for De Ligt now that Vinnie is leaving. With Ota also expected to leave, we'll need to get someone in. A cheeky bid for "the face", maybe?

We haven’t offered him one. He has two year offers elsewhere as we will soon find out. Will make one last decent pay day and challenge.
 
Absolutely gutted he’s leaving, I’d have promised him whatever he wanted. Incredible player even still now. Wish him all the best!
 
Absolutely gutted, he is Manchester City. There's no better way to go out on top though and the parade will be more emotional than ever
 
Absolute legend..he's got to stay at the club in some role..such a strange feeling.. I'm buzzing because we won the treble yet gutted that Vinnie's leaving.
