Some talk of a settlement on here. I hope we don’t go down that route, it’s an admission of guilt. Let’s do what we should have done first time round, take them on. The worst that can happen is we are found guilty and punished, which will look exactly the same with any settlement. The best that can happen is clearing our name and blowing ffp out of the water. I think a potential one year CL ban is worth the gamble as long as the club are genuinely as confident as their PR suggests.

The “recommendation” was for a CL ban of AT LEAST one year. City fans seem to have arbitrarily taken it upon themselves to interpret this as a one year ban. Given that the G14 are utter cnuts, I’d stick my money on a 2 or 3 year ban. Forcing Pep and our best players out, would surely be the ultimate goal for these fuckers, wouldn’t it?

remember that the accounts were produced before the Der Spiegel allegations. Therefore the absence of related parties in the accounts is less meaningful than it otherwise would be. I don't know if it's the done thing, but I think Etihad and City's auditors should review the evidence in the light of the Der Spiegel publication and submit it as evidence. In their professional opinion are in the light of the email hack, these sponsorships considered as related parties. I am pretty convinced that Etihad could not be considered as such. To be so, Sheikh Mansour would have to have control over the Etihad's commercial activities. I'd like to see someone prove that. And that's before you even consider if it's inflated which again is doubtful.

The problem is not UEFA's technical case but that the cartel are pushing hard now. This is their moment. It's now or never for them.

I think it's always good news when Tebas speaks. It just makes it very very obvious that this is not a technical matter, but a political battle. Quite evident that footballing authorities are not the neutral arbiters they would like to portray

That one sentence is what it all boils down to. We can examine the FFP rules and point to the legal weaknesses in UEFA’s hand all we want, but the reality is that they are not the ones driving the bus. This is the cartel’s last remaining chance to nobble us, and they will force our hand all the way, leaving us with the lottery of an approach to the judiciary

United of course, Samuel couldn't have dropped more clues.

The criteria doesn't match United. In the full article from Parrish in the Times he is critical of the ECA member who was likely pushing for the new CL format.
Parrish goes on to say the "the Premier League clubs, including the Big Six, to their credit passed a unanimous motion opposing such changes"

Well if we go down this route they better have deep pockets!!

Thing is if they just ban us for a season, got a feeling they won't go as far as down the legal root. Surely it would cost less to be out of the competition for a year than a pretracted legal battle that could take years with no guarantee at the end of it.

This dick, Tebas, is merely a mouthpiece for Real and Barca, cos if he genuinely gave two shits about any sort of financial fair play, he'd make sure the Spanish tv revenue would be distributed more evenly amongst la liga, because the only clubs our financial might impacts on are those 2 maybe atletico at a push

Think people are deluded if they think city are going to spunk millions trying to bring down FFP. Think we could take our case to CAS but certainly don’t see us taking it further. And let’a not forget CAS is independent from UEFA.

That's how I see it going. If all UEFA have is "not in the spirit of FFP" then CAS will rule a ban a step too far.

It’s depends on the clubs mindset, I’d fuck someone over in court even if it cost me money, money has never been a driver in my life but I was born a cûnt ;-)

I don't think those saying it will definitely not got to court have the foggiest on legal matters much the same as those saying it will, none of us really know on how far the club will go but they have given strong words recently(so what's the point in calling anyone deluded as that's just hypocrisy isn't it?).

In my view City actually have the strongest case to argue against the rules on the basis of them being unfairly restrictive to suit their rivals(the cartel). From what I've read, the case that has already been put to the courts against FFP was simply not heard(not defeated) because the lawyer didn't have a complainant that had a case that these rules are uncompetitively geared against them. If any club can make that claim it's City, they are making out we are spending outside of our means, that we aren't growing, that we have empty stadiums, they are damaging the clubs reputation/image through the press which impacts our commercial appeal etc people need to open their eyes to the wider scope of the attack. This club is in fantastic shape and growing all the time, you wouldn't think so they way these "financial doping" prophets speak about the way we are run.
