A few people have said Rigsby from Rising Damp and I couldn’t agree more. Leonard Rossiter was one of my favourite comic actors of all time and his portrayal of a tight fisted middle aged sociopath who had ideas above his station was as hilarious as it was tragic.

Ronnie Barker has a much larger body of work but comes 2nd & 3rd with Norman Stanley Fletcher & Arkwright for me.

John Thaw as Regan in The Sweeney is my favourite drama character.

I think it’s safe to say I’m no spring chicken.
