The length left on his contract will dictate the price any club pays for him, hes contracted til 2022 isnt he? Liverpool paid an astronomical fee for a goalkeeper, this is the territory big clubs are now in unfortunately .

Where City fall down time and time again is buying players 3rd hand, perhaps it was us who should have taken a punt and bought him from Hull? The timing was wrong though in fairness with the CB's we already had.
Strange how people are sure MDL will be a success over here? Just because Barca are after him doesn't make it a given he will succeed at City-the Dutch League? Its on a par with the Championship, he got exposed v Spurs. Good player that he is but is he worth the £60-£70m muted?

Going from Otamendi to Maguire is an upgrade, not a downgrade.
My problem is that I want an adequate replacement for Vinnie. It doesn't look like we're going to get that and we're going to spend an insane amount replacing our 4th choice centre back.

It's happening and probably at a stupid price, I think he has all the fundamentals we'd look for in a centre back and Pep, almost without fail, brings players on to another level.

The length left on a players contract seems to count for nothing. Arsenal wanted (and got, via Mkhitaryan) £30m+ for Sanchez with only 6 months of his contract left. Also,it seems it is only us who can't shift players we want to shift whereas the swamp-dwellers can get rid in every case at extortionate fees. Sane should command well in excess of £120m if Coutinho was £145m, Pogba £93m and the lump himself £90m.
