Let’s not start denouncing other clubs history, every club has history since the day they were formed.its not all about trophies and besides we don’t wanna turn into the rags or scousers.
I agree wholeheartedly. On that note we should not forget that Villa screwed us over in 1905 though. Never forget, never forgive !

As far as putting a nail in the coffin of utd etc, I think we will all take that.

In isolation though, talking about Newcastle, then I have no sympathy. They are a self righteous bunch of wankers who sleep on a myth of excellent and loyal support. This has already been proven to be a fabrication.

Throughout the years they have always given off a vibe of woe is fucking me, we deserve to be in the top 4 and winning trophies etc because we are a 'sleeping giant'. Small time version of always the victim fc.

One thing we had throughout our barren years was self respect and humility. We never had a sense of entitlement and in the end took the piss out of ourselves.

I couldn't attribute that strength to any Newcastle fan I have ever met, and I've met a few.
And throughout our barren years...... WE TURNED UP!

That's nothing like what I'm saying. You're just twisting my words. Try checking out the original post of hello to whom my post was a reply and then put it into context.
I did read it. "I'm sick of Villa fans already, etc..."

I don't mean to put words into your mouth, I just think there are parallels to our own club' experience, that's all.

Glass houses / stones. We're a good example of a club that has a proud history but (until 2011) no recent success. Villa are another example as are Preston NE, Wolves, Sunderland, Newcastle...

Success and history shouldn't be confused. A club can have loads of history and still not have been successful recently. Denying that puts us on a par with Liverpool and the Rags, quite honestly.
All true, the trouble is every one of those clubs has it's section of entitled fans(some sections larger than others) talking about what they "deserve" over the clubs that are currently in the top 6. All based on a subjective view of their own history compared to others.

Regardless of that it doesn't work that and it would be unfair if it did, it's the same mistake United and Liverpool fans make. What a club did in the past has been and gone(when a few years becomes decades), it normally guarantees a large loyal fanbase and that's your lot... No divine right to the top table or silverware over others who have fared better in recent years.
