João Félix

What he hasn't shown is intensity in his play. Would he be as good if he had half the time on the ball. Seems to have a good brain for special awareness and weight of pass. Decent shot too.

£100m is a lot of money for a player that has some amazing abilities, but questionable intensity/desire. Guess that is what Pep could instill.

We have yet to put one of these precocious talents in the bag when competing with the established order.... I think the chairman stressed quite a few times in his recent interview that we are yet to break the bank, in the grand scheme of things.. this kid is the nads and then some. Perfect for Peps style of play and would elevate what we already have by a few more levels (think what that means)...

If the transfer ban comes, and we are expecting to be found guilty, regardless of ‘facts’, I’m pretty sure we’ll throw a big fuck you to the corrupt swines at Uefa by blowing a hole in the market, then contesting the sanction for shits and giggles...

Sure there'll be a thread on here where the exact same sentiment is expressed about Sane.

True, although Jesus was coverted by many and we got him for a third of this quoted price. I get the market has moved on and value is what the purchaser is willing to pay. It just seems a bonkers amount of money for a very good player, but out of the Berbatov mould rather than a Bernardo one.

Maybe so, but it isn't a coincidence that San hasnt played as much as Pep chose intensity and desire of the collective swarm over individual explosiveness when push came to shove.

Very much horses for courses. Sane came off the bench against 'that lot' and sealed the victory. Indeed, I watched a video recently of all of the season's League goals, and it surprised me just how many in which Sane was either directly or indirectly involved. I'm for keeping Sane and signing Felix; cannot have enough of a good thing. :-)

I'm not in any way trying to dig out Sane. He's a game changer and can explode at any time. Amazing talent with no ceiling apart from what is behind the ears. As you say it is horses for courses and he exploited 'That lot's' slightly higher defensive line and got a start against Burnley off the back of it. They defended the six yard box and he had no space to exploit and with hindsight shouldn't have started.

The Jesus coup was down to Txiki’s links in South America, the deal was boxed off before anyone else got a sniff and a price was agreed well in advance, that’s been going on in La Liga for years, he merely applied the same process to city’s scouting network....

As for capping his capabilities, already, even though he is 19, is ludicrous..... Bernado is twice the player he was at Monaco due to his application and willingness to learn, coupled with the coaching he is afforded. This kid reminds me of a figo, yet more balanced, as crazy as it sounds. 25 years ago we missed out on that player as we simply weren’t appealing enough....

Break the fucking bank, every man and his dog has thrown shit at us for 10 years regarding spending, who really gives a rats anymore????

To be fair it would actually be odd to sit there talking about how we've not broken any transfer records, we've not got anyone in the top 10 biggest transfers etc as a means of defending the club against criticism, only to go and do that straight away.

The whole narrative was establishing market value for what we can get, hence he referred to certain acquisitions.... paying the going rate, so to speak, is actually something we don’t necessarily do, unless, like he has said numerous times, an out of the ordinary scenario occurs, this is that scenario.....

It’s also not very odd at all as it’s the stick we’re being beaten with

I don't disagree, but the risk is in Felix being willing to learn and his application. If we are to spunk £100m on this kid, I'm not going to be one of those spouting it's way too much etc as our scouting also looks at mental traits too.

Think that then needs to be part of the team’s general development:learning to draw teams further up the park so as to create more space. That can be done by players being cuter and falling back 5-10 yards as a team, thus lulling the opposition into a false sense of security. We still have a tendency to bully into submission by suffocating higher up, but as Guardiola moulds ‘his’ team, there should be space in the squad for pickpockets and surgeons alike.

I will never understand these comments. You clearly haven't even watched the kid play because if you did you would never compare him to Phil.

So you've not watched him, you dont have a clue if we've got better or not.

I've watched Phil play and worry about the time he will get, internet warrior
