Liverpool thread 2018/19

A couple of my best mates are Liverpool fans, so am happy for them (they were pretty magnanimous when we won the league) but the media love-in over the last 24 hours has been predictably nauseating.

Fair play to Liverpool, they seem to thrive in Europe whereas we tend to struggle for whatever reason, although it was fine margins this season with the disallowed Sterling goal against Spurs. Still wouldn’t swap the domestic treble for the CL though. Nothing Liverpool do can detract from what was a truly remarkable season for us. Looking forward to renewing hostilities in August.

I would absolutely kill for the league. For 2 minutes on the final day I felt the most excited I ever have about football, it was an amazing feeling. However, the European Cup was so important for us, if we had lost then next season City would've definitely walked the title again.

And before anyone starts with the amount of posts in this thread being 2000, whatever .....

If the media were more level with there coverage and praise of teams , and actually reported facts and not just suck off United nd Liverpool then the post numbers wouldn’t be so high... tally that with the bus attack, our players gobbing off at every opportunity , you ability to take offence at the slightest thing !!

Poke a dog enough and it will bite back , City have been poked and poked and poked , except some backlash !

To be honest if anyone doesn’t like the threads , don’t read them !

I’m sure it’ll be a close title race again next season, regardless of what happened on Saturday night. City and Liverpool are miles ahead of the others at the moment, and can’t see that changing in the near future.

I already post there, thanks though. I just wish it could be the same here seeing as you're now our greatest rivals on the pitch.

Well we're all quite happy with the site thanks and we don't need lessons in what to post. If you don't like the cut of our jib you know where the door is.

I feel as though City played better football this season than last, even though they didn't accumulate as many points. Another improvement in quality would mean at least 95 points again. Is Sane going to stay? One of my favourite players to watch.

That's fine, I have taken the time to post here so clearly I visit the forum quite a bit. Just trying to create an environment where I can contribute, if it doesn't work out I'll happily disappear :)

I’m quietly optimistic that Sane will stay, certainly hope so. Would be a big blow to lose him, although I’m sure if he does go we’ll get a decent replacement.

You should be celebrating?? Your not our biggest rivals, you’ve had 1, decent season next season when VAR is introduced you’ll be irrelevant again

Unfortunately I can't celebrate at work, so I do this instead. If we are irrelevant next season it will be extremely boring for you.

I'm not sure of your age but I get your point about the league. I was too young to know much about it in 1968. Until the takeover I feared I'd never see us win it again. Everyone knows the agony and ecstasy we went through in 2012, but it wasn't until the euphoria wore off that I realised what an achievement winning it is. You go through a long ten month slog, every game tough and in all weather conditions. To come out on top is a real sense of achievement and pride, the champions of England really deserve all the praise that comes their way.

I have just replied to one of your posts in a more non hostile way. We welcome fans of other clubs here and I have has some decent discussions with them, but we get that many wums it is hard to suss out who is and who isn't. Whining about the site doesn't endear newcomers to regulars though.

Course you are, 1 trophy in seven seasons and a that was by losing 4 games in a part knock out Cup after getting through a piss easy group. You also have the accolade of being involved in one of the worst CL finals, not that it would bother any fan how a trophy was won. I’m guessing you go on other sites to gloat and you are definitely not from Dipperland and you are probably around a 50 years old glory hunter, hardly ever go to Candlefield and never watch your local team.

I'm 27 so it's a feeling I have never known! I honestly was never that confident this season, in 2013/14 after we beat City I was more confident. As long as Pep is around I can't see it happening.

Let's be fair. Liverpool have had an all conquering season. Apart from the Champions League this season they also won:

Nett spend trophy
PL title in December trophy
Bottled a 7 point lead trophy
Disrespected both domestic cups trophy
Diving and cheating trophy
Most offside goals trophy
Longest parade route trophy
Lying about parade turnout trophy
Throwing an innocent old bloke in a fountain trophy
Wanking in a fountain trophy
