The Labour Party

Or, call me old fashioned, a functional opposition?

If that dickhead Corbyn and his dickhead Marxist cronies had not gained such a stranglehold on the Labour party, you'd probably have a Labour government by now. He truly is the Tories' greatest gift.
It all comes down to Milibands £3 a pop membership initiative, very, very few people are members of any political
party, so the surge in labour members introduced many elements of the far left, I think it's £25 now,
but it's a problem for Labour, as is being witnessed in the latest MEP vote, and current polls.

Labour needs to be in one place. In power. That is it’s reason for being

Unfortunately for people like me who like the idea of a progressive Labour Party who can hold the Tory’s Party to account when necessary and hopefully win a General Election and help the people it claims it wants to be helping, that won’t be happening whilst Corbyn is there

It’s basic maths. There are not enough people in this country who want to but what he is selling. He has lost 3 elections, 2 badly and was nowhere in the Brexit referendum. Open your eyes. Corbyn is the problem not the solution
That is all history the only thing stopping Labour is the constant character assassination by the media, Do you really think May will win the next election?

He's shown perfectly clearly his character, it needs no outside assassination, this country is not interested in
socialism, as that philosophy's failings are in evidence with the ruination of every single country that's adopted it.
His best mate is an avowed Marxist, and would be chancellor.
He's where he is because of Momentum, he was previously an obscure far left fruitcake that voted against everything,
no matter which party was in office, he is the major barrier to Labour's designs on power, unless he's ousted,
they have no chance.

Agree completely. Idiots have hijacked the Labour party and it's very difficult to see how the sensible ones are going to get it back.

(The same could be said of the Tories, btw!)

Here is why they are just as dangerous.

Utterly fucking disgusting that Glastonbury is giving them a platform as well.

We saw it when Thatcher died. Yes she polarised opinions but people (most of them middle class north London “media” types) coming out on the street to celebrate someone’s death..... really?

Claims it is "satirical discourse". What exactly are they meant to be satirising?

No. That is one of the reasons she resigned! There is no character assassination by the media. That language is very Trump-esque and is very unhelpful and unhealthy

Either way, the point still stands. There’s aren’t enough people in the country who want to buy what they are selling
Correct.

And it's hardly surprising. The politics he and his cohorts espouse are from the 60's and 70's. I know that may sound like a cliché but it's true. A period where large sections of the public were employed in manual labour or low-skilled labouring jobs like coal mining, ship-building, steel workers etc. A climate were it was "us" against "them" with the workers and "management". And a party was needed who would stand up for workers' rights.

Now I am not saying there are no longer situations were workers are exploited, but overall the narrative has changed a lot. "Workers" now drive a BMW 3-series. When I was a lad, no-one had a BMW, let alone a Merc - you just didn't see them, at all, anywhere. Now they are common as Ford Esorts used to be. People have moved on from wanting to wear donkey jackets and standing outside in the rain yelling "Out brothers, out!" It just doesn't resonate any more.

And yet McDonnell especially still lives in that era, still has that mindset. It's no wonder a majority of people don't want to vote for it.

Interesting to have another election indicator, is anyone betting against the Brexit party?
80% chance of winning the seat, last time I checked. Not sure if that figure is related to this or not, though. If 80% was the figure before Forbes' racist faux pas, ay caramba!

80% chance? Well, well, if that's reflective in the voting, the main parties will truly be shitting bricks,
this moves things along a bit from protest voting. Labour keep dropping monumental bollocks by having convicted
fraudsters followed up by anti semites, the Tories are basically screwed anyway, and the LibDems will probably
come in a long way second, but claim they won it anyway.
This time, if Brexit win, it'll be no good adding up the others to try and justify losing.

Labour votes split between Lab/Lib/Greens. Tory vote going to Brexit Party. It's going to happen in more places than just Peterborough, it seems.

Saw Emily Thornberry being interviewed by the cockwomble Piers Morgan this morning. Have to say she was very impressive like many of the senior members of the PLP. It's a shame they're stuck with Corbyn and McDonnell as they would be miles ahead in the polls if they could get rid. It's tragic for this country that the Labour Party is in the grip of the Momentum far left nutters leaving it clear for the worst government in living memory to aimlessly lead the country into oblivion.
