Community Shield 2019 - date confirmed as Sunday 4th August, 3pm ko

Answer - 'Cos we should be playing Watford! The main title domestically is the PL. We won that so our place at the CC is secured. We play the winners of the FArce Cup. As we won it, and the FArce won't let us play ourselves, we should play the runners-up - who were Watford. I don't know whether Watford were asked, but I should imagine some apparatchik at the FArce had a free ticket to Wembers last month and maybe saw a repeat, which wouldn't produce a good omen for the coming season, so the game is hi-jacked by the Dippers who get another free shot at turning us over! I'd like to see the transcript where it was decided. Is there a precedent of League and Cup Doubles ending up with winners and runners-up of the league playing each other?

Thanks, DEBe. My question was to El Apache Tevez but you have answered for him - "cos we should be playing Watford". I can not find anything in your post which is accurate or makes much sense. Schemnel has answered your questions properly though.
Meanwhile, getting back to the point raised by El Apache Tevez which was - "we should boycott this" - Why? Some may decide not to attend for their own reasons but why suggest a boycott? The pros, cons, numbers of visits to Wembley etc have been covered many times before and do not need repeating.
Most of us want to get on with enjoying these superb times watching CITY.

I think you are trying to be sarcastic. I went to 40 games last season and loved virtually all of them and lived and breathed the season like everyone else. But I don't enjoy Wembley much - I am entitled to my opinion. Next year if we get to the Fa Cup final I am going to watch at home with the family. I will be as happy as any person in that stadium if we do it. The whole Wembley experience leaves me cold. I couldn't even get a meat and potato pasty in Greggs this season for goodness sake!

I think the Pie situation has clearly affected you.
You should do more homework, plot a Greggs trail, check what they have in stock, or maybe even pre order.
Blues are very partial to pies, there should be a separate thread to share Pie encounters.

Who ate all the Pies-;)

Because its a fucking con, another day for the freeloading FA,why not play it at OT ???

The proceeds from the game are distributed to community-based initiatives and charities around the country. Revenue from the gate receipts and match programme sales is distributed to the 124 clubs who competed in The FA Cup from the First Round onwards, for onward distribution to charities and projects of their choice, while the remainder is distributed to the FA's national charity partners.

is that what they tell people ffs.

This forum will be a wretched place if we don't have a variety of opinions! I've enjoyed all my visits to Wembley apart from one! But it is a bugger of a place. Tube from North London, fucking helluva a walk from and back to WP station, all that kettling on Olympic Way! Good job we win more 'n we lose. It'd be a fucker of a day as that one where I got pissed wet through going back to the coach which was only parked 150 yards away!

But, what would it be like without the kettling on Olympic Way ? Experience has shown it to be a safe way of organising the exit of part of the masses converging on a confined space.
Yes, winning provides a completely different perspective to any away (or home) day.

On what possible basis could they move it to a Thursday night? Why would they be expecting anybody to make a trip from the North West to Wembley on a fucking Thursday night

If you hate to say it why do you bother saying It?
Your posts have become a huge chore and add nothing positive or useful to the subject matter.
He is entitled to his opinion. And imo is bang on the button.Wembley leaves me cold too.

Dont really trust that Football Accas page as they usually contradict themselves and that could be clickbait.

But if true. Thursday night is a piss take and we should all BOYCOTT. F*k the FA

did some people not earlier write they have already booked travel?

Poznan away was cold. It was bit nippy at the top of the Bernabeu on one occasion also. Yaya scoring against the Rags at Wembley was heart warming. There have been lots of hot moments too seeing the Blues win in Brent. Of course, opinions are fine, however the majority of us get tired of the apparent never ending capacity of individuals to drip, drip with negativity. The downside opinions of the minority on Wembley and self justifications have been become so repetitive that are they now really necessary? Can we not move on? Believe it or not, football is meant to be enjoyed not endured. Make your choices and get on with them. The rest of us want to relish the ride.

Lol, why the fuck would they do this? I mean, i'd still go, so I guess i'm part of the problem, but to hold any game between two northern clubs, at Wembley, on a Thursday just shows how little they consider the travelling fans.

My personal opinion on the game itself, it's a friendly, but it's a day out following City. We win, i'm happy, but i'd prefer 3 points the following Saturday/Sunday in our opening game. Lose, i'm over it before i've walked out of the ground.

It's a chance for those who can't get to finals or too many aways to have a day out. There is the cost element, fortunately i'm in a position to be able to go to as many away games as time allows, but not everyone is and I accept that.

We won't sell it out, we'll get shit in the media. If we did sell it out, we'd get shit in the media.
