Community Shield 2019 - date confirmed as Sunday 4th August, 3pm ko

It's a day when we will be massively outnumbered and we need everyone there.

Go to the game, support City, the club needs you.

If you're not going, spare us the details of the reasons, not interested.
Spot-on. It will be anything but a friendly and it is one to stand up and be counted.

I havent been to any recent charity shield / community shield games . However i love my club and im not having the piss taken out of it by some skip rats. So count me in. I know friends who are the same. Some who dont go anymore but are making the effort for this. The City end needs to be full and colourful. If Pep and the players come out to a half empty end and look at the full dipper end they will be deflated. Our support is continually derided and attacked by the media and plastics around the world. Its time to show them what we are made of.

It will be even more toxic for those blues who do go, if the rest don't. This is the battle of the age, and you can't just walk away from it because they don't like us, and we don't like them.
I appreciate that, but it's also not the 80's either. I really cant be arsed with their shower of dickheads. As I say, I'll probably end up going though

I was in Madrid last Saturday, and to be fair, every Liverpool fan I met was respectful and decent. They had a few irritating banners, but the whole.mood appeared good natured.
In contrast, the only time I sensed trouble was immediately after the 2nd goal when the Tottenham fans started leaving the bars.
I suspect the Community Shield will be similar with both sets of fans mixing without too much hassle, in contrast to the pre-match clickbait vitriol, which the media will undoubtedly encourage with tale after tale of low ticket sales.
We should also remember that the demographics are completely different at the Community Shield with less idiots and a higher proportion of day trippers.
