Conn's article is well researched, but the obvious question he has not answered, is why CAS took the case if they have previously argued that they are not eligible to hear it until a final decision is made. I suspect the cases may not be comparable.
They've not "taken" the case though. We've lodged an appeal. They'd have to look at it before deciding whether it has any validity wouldn't they?

thats exactly where we are at,,they have received our wishes to appeal and now they have to decide if their is any validity and take it on,,im sure i read somewhere it will be next week when we know if they take it on,and im sure if they take it on then its a pretty solid case

Think you are getting confused with the date for the verdict to be given by the IS(?)

Interestingly uefa revised cfcb regulations on 29th May to come into force 1st of June, historical this hasn’t been the case, new rules are published with a significant lead time of several weeks, the hey guys we changed ours rules they apply from 2 days time seems somewhat unethical and typical of uefa. Can anyone think of a reason why they might need new rules so quickly? Erm we might of rushed this and not followed process, hey never mind let’s just publish some new regulations based on we actually did and we’ll be sorted. Fucking laughable they don’t even care pretending to have integrity. Corrupt twats to the core.

You look at the names on that investigative committee, and it appears they are all high flying politico's, one from each nation, and you wouldn't think any of them will have any investigative skills to carry out the task set them.

Market value of an advertising contract?
They would only know their own UEFA one wouldn't they?
Heineken, Mastercard, Gazprom etc. multi multi millions of Euro's, and they would have to get that information from their own financial guy.

Would a single one of them have any kind of a clue of the worldwide marketing value someone like City might have to one of their sponsors?

I would also imagine it being quite difficult to arrange a meeting where all of those people would be available at the same time to go through City's documents, without at least one of them saying, 'Sorry, I have another meeting in London, so have a flight to catch', leaving an exasperated gang with a load of paperwork to go through.

It's just not reasonable or practical to expect that body of high fliers to have the time, patience or nous to tackle this investigation.

It does actually look like they will have had a brainstorming session to see how they can get some kind of a ban on City before that deadline expired, and without having to read any of those 100 pages of explanations.
It almost looks like they've decided that they can't think of anything so feck it, let's just send it upstairs with recommendations to ban them for a year.

So there has to be some underlings doing it and God knows who's in charge there.
You know what these scousers are like, they get where water can't.
Apparently, you're never more than 6 foot away from a scouser at any one time.
So, Parry it is. - The Rat
Only the chair (and chief investigating officer) Yves Leterme and Jacobo Beltran have had national elected political roles. The rest are economists or lawyers by trade. Parry is an accountant.

What changes were made?

What more is there to it then? Looks pretty clear that an appeal to CAS iis underway, and if it's that clearcut that CAS will not review cases that have not been ratified by UEFA's final chamber, I doubt it would have got this far.

Nope. That makes zero sense. If the procedure is flawed then any judgement made as a result isn't worth the paper it's written on.
And the investigation and the associated leaks are damaging to City. There is a need for an independent judicial body. Whether that's what CAS is remains to be seen.

so no leaks on are part then !!

They are a bunch of freeloaders who will be receiving more than most of our yearly salaries for sitting on a committee a couple of days a month.

Their work will consist of eating/drinking very expensive paid for lunches whilst reading the memo which already contains the pre determined verdict handed down to them from UEFA.

This has been stated previously on here about the Leterme fella, but worth repeating the reason his previous role ended ‘A recent report by the consultancy firm KPMG had reported that Yves Leterme had an "authoritarian" management of Idea and a lack of collective decision-making power. The report also referred to cases of discrimination, preferential treatment and harassment’.

So yeah, all above board...

This all sounds like a cheesy comic book storyline, the more it progresses.

UEFA Stooge: "City have beat our FFP rules to stop them... *Jurassic Park Theme* life finds a way sir"

Angry UEFA Boss: "WH-WHAAAT? Impossible!!! The secret society of the G14 clan will have my head for this.... Unless, wait a minute! I've just had an idea, why don't we just re-write the fucking rules so we can say they haven't beat them?... *evil laugh* Muahahahahahahaha"

UEFA Stooge: "That's genius sir, I'll get right on it. They wont know what's hit them sir!"

Seems to me that unless our appeal forbids it then UEFA will issue their judgement ( next week if rumours are to be believed) and then this current appeal ( against the referral process) will be considered together with City's further appeal against the details and validity of any punishment handed down.
City are probably aware of this and IMO the current appeal represents a warning shot across UEFA's bows that our final appeal will be substantial and significant and will be two pronged against both the process and the judgement.
