Conn just recycles the same criticisms over and over again. He was probably interesting to read 10 years ago but now it's like reading the same article every few weeks. Boring.

And his refusal to criticise FCUM really damages his credibility after talking them up so much in the early days after they invented non league football.

I think, first & foremost, he is a hater of our owners, then 2nd, someone who would like to be a City fan, but isn't, because he hates them, so hates them even more.

That's my 'understanding' of where these people are coming from.
Maybe. That's how people work. He's knowledgeable though. And his opinion should not be automatically dismissed.

Nail on head. Although I'd also like to back the turncoat description.
Yep, my sister bought me his book for Christmas about three years ago, straight in the bin (she doesn’t know though). I don’t mind reading what others say about us warts and all, you have to know what the enemy is thinking but when one of your own turns it’s perplexing.

Doesn't surprise me you read the Guardian and are pro Conn. If UEFA have feed Conn information its because they knew he's put a negative spin on it.
More like Conn probably will have contacted them, and got their view on the matter. I don't agree with Conn's politics or the Guardian's. I used to get it delivered but cancelled it when its City coverage became politicised. I just don't like to see people being maligned or rubbished. Neville's view is probably correct. We should be able to handle another point of view, and take it in.

I've been reading David Conn's work for years. He is one of the best journalists out there and I don't think it's true to say that he is anti-City.

He has a traditional Guardian outlook on the world, but many people have a view of the world distorted through the prism of your political outlook, just as we as City fans view everything through blue tinted glasses. '

Just because someone publishes something which you might regard as bad news, does not mean the writer has a vendetta against City. They maybe correct. They may also just be influenced by the information out there, and it's possible that under strict confidence David Conn may have got this angle from UEFA.

When was the last time he wrote a positive article on City? Genuine question by the way.

Lol, its akin to say 'British Gas' for example saying, Sorry Sir but you can't go to the Financial Ombudsman to complain about our processes because in our terms and conditions it says not. I'm not sure Conn and the other hacks realise CAS is totally independent of UEFA.

In my opinion the fact uefa have made a rule about CAS referrals is dodgy in of itself
CAS is an arbitration service for resolving disputes. There should be some guidance as to when and in what circumstances they take a case
When was the last time he wrote a positive article on City? Genuine question by the way.
Probably when the Der Spiegel allegations surfaced and he was a lone voice suggesting a ban was unlikely....probably then an inside view from UEFA.

I don't understand why CAS would issue a press release saying they've registered our appeal in the knowledge it is against the rules for us to lodge an appeal at this stage.
I doubt they know UEFA rules. It would be up to UEFA to point this out to them and then CAS would reject the appeal.

Worth noting that, even if our appeal is not strictly within UEFA rules, UEFA may allow the appeal to go ahead and help them out of a tricky situation.
