Think so too, so Stones should be fine for games.Very confident that Nico won't be around next season . I'd go if I was him

A Yorkshire back four, wow. You will not get tighter than that.I like the fella. He looks clumsy but is actually a calm presence and is great with his feet and is great for his aerial ability. The only slight negative is a bit slow off the mark which you can get away with in a defensive side but when opponents hit us on the break that ball over the top on our left hand side would be a problem and could leave him exposed. I trust Pep with what he has in mind and end of the day we normally have at least 70% possession in each game. He would be a great addition and another string to our bow on set pieces. If signed we could potentially have a Yorkshire back 4 next season although can’t see Delph playing there ever again.
If Maguire does come in, or De Ligt or the lad from Napoli, where does this, realistically, leave John Stones now and in the future?
Maybe all these rumours and speculation about Mr Maguire is just a ploy to get the Manure to swoop down and gazump us by offering 100 million for him.
I understand that there are several ways to skin a cat.

We don’t thrash United every game. Do you want Phil Jones, too? I hear he’s available!I’m surprised we didn’t thrash Leicester every time we play considering how poorly rated their main central defender is.
This move is like taking what you think is a fit woman home to find out she has hairy legs and a penis

Looks a bit like him too.Every time I have seen Maguire he has looked really good.Reminds me a bit of Steve Bruce. Does not get the credit he deserves.
Maguire is also a ball playing centre back. Have you actually seen him play?
You said he was a downgrade by any measure on Kompany, so I used Kompany’s fitness as a measure.
P.s. not a slabhead fan either just think it's not as tragic as some people make it out to be.
You don't need pace to be a top footballerAnyone using the pace factor needs to realise some of the best centre halves Pep worked with did not have a good turn of pace. But they possessed qualities of playing out the back, and having good reading + understanding of the game.
Dante at Bayern wasn't fast either, same with Pique, Javi Martinez, Badstuber (even tho played less) just off top. Otamendi is the most obvious example for us, especially in 17/18 season.
There is no doubt Maguire will improve under Pep.
Obviously he is mistake prone too, but he is still much more defensively sound than Stones is. And fairly decent playing out the back, add in the hg factor plus PL familiarity + experience it's quite easy to see why he's the primary target. Will hardly justify the price tag but if he comes good then what's to complain.
Also he won't replace Kompany, no one really will. But experience is necessary at this stage to give Stones and Laporte tough competition, not just being a squad player and fullfilling the squad numbers.

I like Maguire and I’m sure he would be a success here but the fee is ridiculous. He’s not better than Laporte or Stones.
Harry is great in the air, and has the qualities Pep is looking for but he’s not a top top CB and I don’t think he ever will be.
In the CL will Harry dominate a game against PSG’s attack for example?? I think he’s more likely to make a mistake leading to a goal than to dominate that game.
Can you really see Harry shutting down top strikers?? I can’t but I can picture him conceding a penalty to Mbappé after he misjudges the ball and catches him.
£65m+ for a 3rd choice CB is just too much. You can possibly argue even 4th choice. Not sure he’s better than Otamendi tbh. He’d be great for about £40m as a squad player in the PL specifically away to teams that constantly play long balls. Even that figure pains me.
If we’re paying that much the player needs to be top 5 in their position or a unique talent like De ligt.
Rather stick with what we have. Eric Garcia is a top talent and I would have no problems seeing him next to Laporte if necessarily. Captain at all youth levels. Didn’t look out of place in the first team. Even gave instructions to Otamendi in one game. That’s called having big balls as Pep would say. The kid is ready.
If not let’s rather gamble on a young CB for a smaller fee or pay a premium and actually go for a top 5 CB like Koulibaly. Yes he would cost £100m or more but he is a player that I know would dominate the big games and I could see us winning the CL with him.
