De Niro wtf!!!!!

His performance is Goodfellas was as good as it gets. His other films such as Cape Fear, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Godfather, New York New York, Casino and The Deer Hunter trump anything else he does. Talking of Trump he hates him nearly as much as I do.

As a tribute to him I'll have a crumpet with marmite before bedtime. Night all.

A quirky film that I love, The King of Comedy with De Niro as wannabe Stand Up comedian Rupert Pupkin, not a huge box office hit but it’s truly brilliant. Not shown much on TV but for those with an offbeat sense of humour it’s a must watch.

The scene with his actual bird/wife getting turfed out of jerrys drum was mesmerising.

The script writer was hawking the film around ny unsuccessfully leading him to sometimes have to sleep in his car...scorsese stumbled into it...the mad bird scene after the kidnapping was/is a belter, how the fans argjue in the q's is brilliantly detailed to actual capers on broadway.

HIs jony-,boy character was a good en...

Pacino was better although he got a bit shouty later on.

Saying Pacino got "a bit shouty" is like saying Geddy Lee's voice is "just a trifle high."

Pacino became a caricature of himself before De Niro did, IMO. And turned down Goodfellas to be in Dick Tracy. And did Scarface, which is two and a half hours of histrionics and gunfire.

At last, two of his finest films mentioned
Mean Streets, the precursor to the ‘mafia movies’ of the 70s and King of Comedy.
