Away tickets

Presumably once you have randomly been picked to collect your ticket and you fulfill this task your name will be taken out of the hat for future random picks.

Or will some of us be put to the trouble 5 or 6 times a season. I’m still drying out from Celtic!

I'm not affected by these changes as my going to all away games phase was in the 70s & 80s and as I still do lots of driving in my job in my mid sixties I am not up for travelling even more. I also stopped any attempt to keep my loyalty points moving up by never buying Platinum.

However, I have posted before saying that I believe the club are actively looking to dislodge the stubbornly hardcore long term support in favour of corporate, tourists and younger supporters generally. From a marketing perspective why would the club want me hogging a seat after paying over 65 price from the coming season onwards whilst spending nothing else? I don't buy any food or drink in the stadium, nothing from the City Store and not even a programme. I'm not the slightest bit interested in any of the 'exciting' new initiatives they launch and I plan to keep going to games until I'm physically unable to. High points holders are almost all older supporters and in terms of additional spend they are probably similar to me. There is no money to be made by selling them away tickets but if they can be replaced by higher spending, new supporters of the profiles I listed earlier then it's an entirely different matter.

Welcome to the new world of US style ticketing / marketing.

If it is indeed random, then statistically you have much chance being pulled out for the next game as you did for the other games.
Although change in the allocation, and the higher the number of points you have will increase your chances of being selected.

Might get abit I’d stick , but there Seems such an overreaction from this new rule , it’s 5% which is 150 fans from 3000 people , Hardly going to make a difference.

Means 10% of those who got via points can't go now, but it will end up 20/25% as points criteria has gone up 3k with points for fans going up less than 1k. Just a cover for slashing allocation to points.

Last season i mentioned on here that i knew exactly where i stood in regards to pecking order in the England supporters club as they have a table available to all members on what your points(caps) are and where you sit in it.This is a rolling period of 2yrs.I know as of now i will qualify for tickets initially due to home fan allocation of i believe 16% going to England fan members for the group games at wembley for Euro 2020.The remaining tickets for these games are balloted along with your usual hospitality & Uefa/players etc allocation. The table shows i am in the top 6000 attendees as per table along with my lad. This helps us book accommodation etc in advance. I have also queried why we can't have something similar at City, as like others i like & need sometimes to book accommodation/travel for aways in advance.I am happy to see how the new system goes and do hope this allows some genuine blues to get tickets for aways that couldn't previously.

Just seems to be a lot of fuss for 5% of fans aged 18-25 being able to get 150 tickets which is nothing , nobody kicks off about how many tickets supporters clubs get or for corporate

That works for the England home games,no chance for away games when small allocation. Many tickets mysteriously disappear the higher the importance of the game

Loads kick off about tickets going out the back door, club employees, supporters clubs and cooperates, and the allocation isn't from these.

It isn't nothing, it means 150 other fans lose out to fans with potentially no points and is the thin end of a very large wedge. Even fans with medium to medium high who are 18 to 25 lose out.

150 is 2 or 3 sales windows for the big games were we only get around 1000 tickets to points.

Without stirring up a riot, the lesser pointed fans have been complaining for years about the system but people in the higher brackets haven't given a shit, well it's hit the fan now.

To quote a famous text...

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm going to try and stay out of this thread now as although a Scard holder I only tend to do Wembley and maybe 1/2 others these days but everyone has been shafted slowly over the last few years.

The fans are the club, working man's club, we won't forget it, it's your Manchester City etc.....but only if we can fully control you or you have £££.

Yeah no chance that united away or Brighton has more than third to points, and decreasing every season.

It’s increased the first day of sales from 22000 points to 25000 points

I was speaking out in 2008 about tweaking with link earlier in this thread. The lesser pointed fans were not bothered then, but I could see issues a mile off, and rather than tweaking the club are looking to scrap it as they don't make enough money out of away tickets as incentives.

Yeah i agree no guarantee but at least i have some indication of where we stand. With City i have just under 18000 points & my lad 14000 as of now
but we don't know how many fans sit in front of us on points.

I’ve said this before, but we as fans have no one representing us. Ticket prices, relocations, away points ..... we have no say or representation on any of these issues

Above you now?
All the corporate, regardless of points
Supporters Club members, regardless of points
People in the ticket office who flog them at a profit.
