They are wheeling out all of this rubbish so if the deal goes through they can beat their chest and prove just how they pressured us into selling and how great the big red machine is compared to the dirty oil money.

They want Sane to make a statement of intent to leave and fair play to him it seems he isn't, he is in training and has been playing so Pep is clearly comfortable with the situation.

This is the classic routine tbf, everyone is going through their motions and doing their dance. It happens with most transfers, reports on one side, denials on the other, etc etc.

How many times have we ourselves been in a position where all reports suggest we are close to signing a player, he wants to come, the clubs are close to to agreeing a fee etc etc, and then, Bam, the player signs a contract extension at the club he is at. Noise is just that, noise. Doesnt mean much. until something formal happens.

If we really want to keep Leroy, which is what's being said then we need to win this tussle with Bayern, we can't be bullied by these tw#ts, the way they've gone about this is, in my opinion disgusting, it might work on clubs that don't have our financial muscle or newish stature within the arrogant old school euro clubs, but either he stays or we make them pay well over the odds after all he his their "DREAM SIGNING"

Hmmmm....I think I can guess what’s happening reading between the lines.

My guess: City are willing to sell if Sane won’t sign with us. I think City may have told Bayern that but we haven’t given up trying to sign him. We can’t say anything publicly either way until we know what Sane will do. So Bayern have gone after Sane on that basis. Bayern will not put a formal bid in until Sane tells them he is interested in going to Bayern.

So this is all down to Sane. He won’t say anything to either party. If he says to City OK I’ll sign with you again then we can pretend we always wanted him and had no intention to sell. Bayern can say they never bid.

If Bayern get the nod then we can talk money after they have put a bid in. If he goes Bayern are happy and we say he wanted to go.

A lot of this is about saving face but the next move is with Sane. He doesn’t have to do anything but if his reps are talking with Bayern and trying to sell him he has to let Bayern know eventually so they know if they can at least bid.

I actually think Sane is pissing everyone about right now.

Reading that Munich are stating again how hard they are working on this deal and the players representatives, surely this has to be tapping up and in a blatant manner.
Look Munich aren't doing jack shit except talking shit, there is no evidence in what they are saying and City have put them right this morning.

£100m only pays about 6 years of Pep’s salary! We’ll need a whip round.

I wonder if he's the richest manager in the history of the game by now? His salary has been about 20m/year since 2010, and he has several endorsements on top, including allegedly 5m/ year from Adidas while Bayern manager.

His great, great, great grandkids should be OK for shoes.

Nice to know, I might ask him for a sub the next time I see him in Exchange Sq

Normally to be one of the richest managers, you have to be one that gets sacked a lot. Those payoffs really add up! Pep does it a bit different. It’s difficult to see him ever getting sacked by anyone. He leaves when his contracts are up.

I would bet Mourinho is richer than him. I'm sure Inter, Real, Chelsea x2 and Manure pay well
Presumably by virtue of being paid off far more often than Guardiola, then Mourinho would be richer.

I don't think Mourinho gets as much in pay-offs as people think - a lot of the money that gets announced like the £20m it cost Chelsea to sack him in 2007 goes to his massive backroom staff.

He'd definitely be up there though.
