The opening on the Mueller hearing...might as well have ended it there and then

There have been some interesting exchanges, and the obligatory faux anger from Republican members.

What bothers me is that the POTUS clearly obstructed justice, and some of these clowns are treating this hearing as a petty point scoring match, rather than actually trying to address the constitutional crisis before them.

Agreed.

Republicans are playing for Fox News. Shouting very loudly and keep using words such and lying, false etc whilst questioning him.

Mueller has stated multiple times that Dumb Donald's actions constitute obstruction of justice. Obstruction of justice is an impeachable offense.

This is in addition to his campaign finance violations that led to his private attorney being convicted of a felony and WH counsel contacting Flynn's attorney and dangling a pardon if he clammed up (witness tampering).

The Dem's just need to keep banging that drum.

I thought his point today was that he had specifically not said it was OoJ, bu that this was because he was not able to suggest that of a sitting president, and also that it was not his role to say that it was definitely OoJ.
Not being able to exonerate was a statement that there was evidence, which could be followed upon, and that this evidence was of a standard sufficient to do so.

Knowing this, then dissent and counterviews should not only be tolerated, it should be constantly sought.

As for who else disagree with that truth and facts are important? You should read this thread.
Did you vote for the **** Dax?

He's also stated multiple times (and just did again) that Dumb Donald has committed the three elements of OoJ.

Fair enough. I suppose he can't say 'he's guilty' though.

The BBC have helpfully compiled takes on today so far:

New York Times: "Trump Was 'Not Exculpated' by Report, Mueller Says"
Washington Post: "Democrats grill Mueller on obstruction, Republicans question probe's origins"
Fox News: "Flustered Mueller asks for questions to be repeated, blanks on Fusion GPS in contentious hearing"
Associated Press: "Mueller: I did not clear Trump of obstruction of justice"
Wall Street Journal: "Mueller Says His Report Didn't Exonerate Trump"

I don’t know why they don’t ask him if trump wasn’t the president would he have been charged with obstruction of justice?

It means different things to different people in different parts of the world. I might have used it in the past, myself, unknowingly, when I'm making a speech, or a presentation.

Trump uses more hand gestures than most and the body language experts I have read and seen say this could be due to his New York heritage. You'd have to put him in a straight jacket, probably, to stop him doing these, which doesn't sound like a bad idea now I've said it.

This re-invention of an innocent gesture is evidence that people are being re-educated subconsciously, but most people will disagree because they can't believe they can be a victim.
Sadly,, the victim mentality is winning. This used to be contained within college campuses, and the joke back in the late 90s and early 2000s was that those who subscribe to it are going to get a real shock once they get into the real world.

Now that was true when I graduated, but the funny thing is they kept indoctrinating more and more students that eventually now we have a critical mass of victimhood wielding warriors waging a victimhood war outside the confines of the liberal art Universities. And they are winning.

We are in the beginnings of the end of Western Civilization. The only question worth considering is what Civilization rises next?

But that's for a different thread :)

At least you have that then.
In fairness, since moving to NY 8 years ago my vote really doesn't matter anyway. Democrats always win NY.

Unlike back when I lived in North Carolina or Pennsylvania for college, my vote sure did use to matter back then.

Now the only vote that matter are local school district votes and the like. National politics vote are meh!

I can tell you right now who's going to win NY. Well maybe not right now :)
