Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

The suggestion that he would actually want to run his contract down for two years absolutely baffles me. What on earth for, theres literally nothing to gain by that. He would risk his career, at both club and international level, approaching his prime, for what? Not to mention the money he'd miss out on, whether here or anywhere.

And theres nothing in it for Bayern either, in two years he could be a totally different player. They could have found other players/targets by then. And they need people in now, with quality and pace.

He is holding off signing a deal, either for more money or to see how much playing time he'll get, either one of those though, he wants to stay here. OR, he's holding out because he wants to see what Bayern are offering, but i imagine they've already told his people that. If he wanted to go there, they'd be all over it hitting us with lowball offers.

Either way, him choosing to run his contract down, makes absolutely zero sense.

The reason we aren't hearing anything from Leroy and his agents are because that does nothing but harm his position.

If he wants greater terms on a contract from us, he's going to wait to sign until we offer it. If he wants a move to Munich, he needs to be discreet about his wishes because going public would result in Bayern offering well below what he's worth, with the thought that he doesn't even want to be here, thus making us less reluctant to accept the bid.

I know we're all fans and we'd love to know one way or another, but it just doesn't work like that. IMO he's been professional throughout this saga. Can't say the same for the German rags.

Yes, good point about Bayern not getting the player for 2 yrs. it was only a couple of months ago Hudson Odoi was off to Bayern but a change of manager and hey presto, he's happy again. And as you say, it could all be a negotiating tactic to see what we'll offer but I do still wonder why he wasn't used so much over the last months of the season, tactical or otherwise.
 
If there was a form guide on City's last 6 games of last season Sane and Stones were pretty much the most out of favour players in the squad. Crazy isn't it. Imagine those as the two "worst" (sic) in your squad.

In 2 years, Bayern get to sign him for nothing rather than £100m plus. I would guess Bayern would be very grateful to Leroy for such a gesture, if you get my meaning.

This is why it's a problem for us, in terms of getting his market value. If a player only wants a certain club, that club and player hold all the cards. Maybe he isn't such a mug after all? I really hope it doesn't happen but if he wants to go, it has to be now. Get Everton Sousa Soares in as replacement.

But that is always a gamble one bad tackle and that’s a lot of money gone.
 
I said, when Raheem was stalling on a deal, that it is surprising more players don't run their contract down as it puts them in such a strong financial position. I was therefore surprised when he signed a new deal quite quickly with us. So City must have a strategy in these situations - let's hope Leroy signs too.
Plus, all this noise coming from Germany makes me wonder at what point does illegal tapping-up start? If it's not tapping--up it's certainly bullying from the old pro's.

I hope you are wrong Karen, but I think you maybe right. We need this sorting one way or the other ASAP.
 
Everyone and his German sheperd is talking about Sane , chairmen , manager , national manager ex-players if there has ever been a case to answer for trying to unsettle a player with an illegal approach then this is it , apparently his agent has been in discussion with the Gemran Rags for weeks without our prermission and even his mum has shared at bratwurst with dodgy tax evader Hoeness.
Maybe i could handle Sane leaving if he has no desire to play for us anymore and we receive the going rate i.e. £120m , but going to play for Rummenigge and the fact he will be like a German sheperd with two cocks and his smug fucking gob with his big fat cigar sticking out of his face is quite nauseous , so lets offer Leroy £250k a week on a five year deal because its what his agent has been negotiating for (and his 15% cut) and insert a £250m transfer clause into the deal , and let Rumennige and the German "Get Sane" team , go and f*ck themselves.

It's mystifying that we are allowing Bayern to make daily open statements without any response from City. They must be contravening some protocol here.
If the boot was on the other foot we'd face serious consequences no doubt.
Why the fuck are we allowing them to be so vocal and underhand in their pursuit of Leroy?
It's fucking disgraceful and I wish we would tell them to fuck off.
 
The worry for me isn’t whether Leroy leaves or not. The worry is if he leaves and we don’t get a replacement this window which we won’t now. Leaves us short as there’s only really Raz who can play on the left then. He can’t play every game

Wont worry me we have a squad full of quality oh and the best manager ever lived.
