The new Manchester City reporter, Simon Bajkowski, at the MEN, get’s it spot on.

I’m going to link article and give him a chance. He’s new and starts with a clean slate.

Bayern Munich tactic hasn't helped pursuit of Man City star Leroy Sane
Manchester City are hopeful of keeping Leroy Sane despite public interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern's tactic of getting several high-profile figures at the club - with strange cameos from Dortmund and the German national team - to talk up what a good fit Sane is without actually putting a bid in for the player has hardly endeared themselves to the Blues.

Hope MEN can get more City journalists. We need an equivalent of Liverpool Echo.

just spoke to a Bayern fan here in Ecuador, he said they cannot pay £100,000,000, although they would love to see him sign for them, he was not too sure how the near future would pan out for them, need a total rebuild, decent guy to be honest.
Your bayern friend is talking BS tbh. Is he a member of the board to decide that? They just spent 80m on a defender this season which they hadn't done previously so how does he know that they wouldn't want to make the move?

That being said, I belive the ball is in our court because they need a winger urgently. We are not going to sell to them and Sane will sign a new and improved contract hopefully.

Do the Germans not have to comply with 'tapping up' rules?

Surely what they are saying and doing is just that?

We'd be investigated and banned for 40 years if we had the temerity to tap up a player from one of the royal clubs.

I've just said the same thing to my mate in work.

How the hell is this not tapping up? There are rules against this sort of thing aren't there? It's an obvious and blatant attempt to tap the player up and turn his head. Unless of course he's already expressed his desire to move to Bayern. Let's hope not ay.

My local newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung today writes that James has asked Bayern to not exercise their option to buy him from Real, the reason being he does not play enough games and Bayern will not promise him more game time. Leroy should take that as a warning that also his situation regarding game time will not change at all if he goes to Bayern.

Bayern are German therefore tapping up rules aren't enforced by premier league standards like when the scousers were guilty of tapping up vvd but not punished. The fifa regulations are woeful citing

THE FIFA REGULATIONS
Regulation 18.3 of the FIFA Regulations, which contain the relevant rules governing international transfers, provides:

A club intending to conclude a contract with a professional must inform the player’s current club in writing before entering into negotiations with him. A professional shall only be free to conclude a contract with another club if his contract with his present club has expired or is due to expire within six months. Any breach of this provision shall be subject to appropriate sanctions.

This is a decent impartial(ish) article of the laws in regards to tapping up and illustrates internationally pretty much any thing goes hence why Munich act like such a bunch of twats, I am assuming the German football federation don't have any rules similar to the premier or football league ones or if they do then they don't apply to Munich as they act like twats domestically as well.

I hope we tell Bayern to fuck off, they're annoying me in all this. They'll probably try for a loan first, then when that fails bid a derisory 40m or something. Hate that club with a passion.

That arse hole tax dodger need to be put in his place for publicly trying to unsettle Sane
