How are they supposed to do that when no trade deals are signed and no tariff system put in place? You're in limbo at the minute, that's like me going next door and telling my neighbour I'll sue if he ever assaults me.
Which is why it's a moot point. Noone has even stated "if there is any possibility of the UK making Ireland an MFN, we will sue". None.

Why.the.fuck.would.they?

We haven’t done it, we haven’t agreed the terms on which we leave or what the agreement with the EU will be in terms of trade.

Countries don’t go around making threats on what may happen in future. They’ll be hoping for a trade agreement with us and to do trade with us, threatening us whilst we’re still in the EU would be ridiculous and make that country a laughing stock.

It doesn’t mean they won’t when it turns out we’ve given Ireland/EU a much better deal.

Which. Is. Why. It's. A. Moot. Point.

You're the one making it!!

Yeah, just like I don't get on bad terms with my neighbour by stating the consequences for something he's never shown any intention to do. The WAM committee have told you you'll get no trade deal passed with the states if you fuck up the peace process though (both Democrats and Republicans). Why don't we talk about that?

But we are intending to do it, and nobody is saying anything.

If this is a supposed possibility, and a possibility as a result of no deal, which itself is becoming more likely, no-one has mentioned that they would sue the UK?

It is a supposed possibility.

It’s the reason the issue isn’t bleeding sorted.

We’ve told you why they wouldn’t at this point, they’d just do it if we offered them a worse deal.

Either take the point or don’t.

This is a very ignorant few posts from you.

You've said you might intend to do it. You've taken no real steps towards no deal until Johnson said no new legislation today. Even then he'll have to either survive the vote of no confidence (inevitable) or the subsequent GE before anyone even thinks about taking steps.

Really? I could say the same, because you clearly aren't listening to what point i'm making. And when you start with shit like that, you just piss people off.

WTO have stated, in the link I provided, they see no reason why they would have any involvement in the border issue. Nobody, even with no deal, has made any claim of potentially suing the UK if the UK imposes no border between Ire/NI. Now are you going to debate respectfully or are we done here?

No we have fully stated we intend to do it if we cannot conclude a deal.

Can we stop going around in circles, you know my position on this.

Why wouldn't they? If American, Brazilian or French farmers are having a 40% tariff added onto their beef and Irish beef is entering the UK tariff free with no trade deal in place, why wouldn't there be pressure on their governments to take action?

I await their lawsuit announcement, then.

Which will never come, by the way, just as it hasn't so far.
