Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

It would be a strange thing to tweet, if he's planning on going to Bayern. No need at all, to use the English flag like that.

If it was a player we were desperate to sign & he did the equivalent, there would be a meltdown & mass suicides, Txiki death threats on here.

It's not Leroy posting it. His social media presence screams "managed by PR company".

99% of the photographs on his Instagram are from club photographers/professional photoshoots and his tweets come 1 after each game with a photo from the game and always with the #InSane and #LS19 hashtags.

It will be a tweet written by a social media person at his PR agency and so it's not really worth reading into either way.

Guys, all of these footballers have people running their accounts. Sorry to shatter the illusion.
and these people running the account tweet what they feel like exactly opposite of what their employer wants ?

Not getting his money's worth then.

The club cat could come up with more than that.

Not all of them tbf, a lot of footballers run their Instagram account themselves. Twitter though yeah, there the ratio is subverted.

Close the thread.

The amount of repetitive speculation and drip drip drip of knownowtery serves no useful purpose after 600 + posts.

Re open it when there’s a definitive outcome.

A discussion forum doesn't work like that,so that will not be happening,i'm sure a man with your experience is aware of that.

Yeah its incredibly repetitive. Also uses the same string of emojis in every other post.

He Probably only has it because Nike or some other sponsor wanted a social media presence, just part of the modern game now. If its true hes moving to get managed by Beckham's lot then it'll probably stay very sanitised but get a little more interesting.

Do City still have one? I know the old cat, one that Balotelli loved, passed on a few years ago but it'd be nice to think that even in these modern sophisticated days there was still space for a moggy at MCFC.

So they never tweet themselves?
I'm sure they have access but the cookie cutter pre/post match stuff is all done by PR people.

The tweet is completely innocuous, there's nothing to read into. Seriously, look back at his posts over any period of time. It's one of countless like it.

We’re a club who have built a reputation for making it as easy as possible for top players to sign or leave.

If Sane wants to leave we won’t fight him. It’ll just be a case of agreeing the terms. It’ll be a short term pinch but long term having that reputation will pay off. We’re not a Barca or Madrid who have a natural allure so need to develop different strategies.

Hopefully it won’t come to it.

Well he's not telling lies is he, next stop is England, so he's not going to put next stop byern. Once in England he can then put next stop byern. That really would be showing his hand wouldn't it

If he’d scored the penalty v Liverpool and hit the post v Bournemouth, net result would be the same .

Erm, no. we would have finished 2 points ahead of liverpool rather than 1.

but yes, as a point, its somewhat immaterial.

Then the club has allowed itself to be held hostage by a 22 year old and his mum.

Obviously keeping Sané and him signing a new deal is the best outcome, but he was offered a contract in December. If he hasn't decided by the last week of July with the new season a week away from starting, then sorry Leroy you missed your chance to move, take less than 7 months to make your mind up next time.

Or if the club didnt want to keep him an extra year then they needed to sell him earlier when possible replacements were still an option. Make the difficult decision 8 weeks ago and sell him if hes not going to commit after a year of contract negotiations.

At the end of the day, Pep has 2 more seasons. 1 of them might be handicapped by a transfer ban, and now we're saying just before this season he might lose a big player with no chance to replace them.

wow, you really have no idea how contracts or employnent works do you?

If he's not performing, why should Pep play him? We're challenging for titles & cups, so why would Pep jeopardise this for one player? At times during last season, it was like playing with 10 men with Sane on the pitch.

The boy has a mentality issue. He's immensely talented, but ask yourself why he's never once (in my memory) hit the ground running from the start of the season?

He needs to realise the likes of the fake Ronaldo & Hazard etc are the players they are because they dedicate themselves to their craft, & don't purely rely on their natural talents.

Both Pep & Lowe cam't be wrong in their assessment of Sane 12 months ago.

Face palm.

Really? like playing with 10 men with sane on?

Maybe because his pace is so immense, you are unable to spot him on the pitch.

It seems to me, could be wrong of course, that if he's tweeting English flags he is likely expecting to be playing at Wembley next week-end and that would indicate he's staying.
It could just be that his next country will be England tomorrow sometime.

I assume they are on their way back straight away ? An Aeronexus corporate 767 left Tokyo at 0116 bound for N/A, but is heading across SE Russia now (ARN359 for those interested), and could well be UK bound.

Yes, it literally means that.

He has not committed to Manchester City when offered contracts to stay on.

As Pep said, the club has done everything it can to convince him and as yet he's refused everything g put in front of him.

Until he signs a new contract, he is not committed to the club, hes just slowly moving towards the exit.

Aye sure, not signing a contrat makes him no longer a football player.
