I'm sorry but I have to disagree here.

At the risk of pissing some people off, I'll just say it regardless because it's what I see and believe. The kid is a slapped arse. Absolutely fucking loads of potential but attitude is a huge part of making it to the highest level and his is poor.

Pep hasn't stood for that shit throughout his career and I would suspect he isn't going to start now.

It's about the person as much as it is the footballer and unfortunately Leroy only ticks one of those boxes at present.

In my opinion.
That’s why I keep saying he’s actually the only guy in the entire squad that I don’t like. I don’t see why any fan would like him. He has no connection with us, face like a slapped arse, gives up on games when he doesn’t get a pass and then stops making the run as a result. He’s fucking infuriating. I’m not going to ignore all that just because he can occasionally play at a world class level. It’s about more than just ability. I won’t miss him, don’t care how high his ceiling is, I just don’t like the guy. And because of that I feel the squad would be even more harmonious without him. But that’s just my opinion.

bang on that.

There is a lot of truth and merit in what you say here imo.

Incredible player at times but................

My thoughts last season towards the end was his benching was as much an issue with attitude as it was with form and the contract/Bayern issue will be doing nothing to help it.

Exactly. Compare him to the ‘typical’ City signing personality... Silva, Aguero, Bernardo, Vinnie, Zabba, Stones, Rodri, Sterling, Jesus, Fernandinho, Zinchenko etc, etc .... these guys give you that warm fuzzy feeling. I can honestly say I love them, they make me proud when I watch them. They make me proud when I listen to them. They are exactly what I want Manchester City to be about. Leroy? Nah, please leave.

I get the feeling that he's the kind of person who would thrive in a team where he was the star, like Ronaldo. I think in that kind of set up he could be a ballon d'Or winner.

Now, Pep doesn't appear to get on with that kind of player (Yaya?), nor does it fit into his team ethic, and we're not that kind of team. If all that is true, he's not going to reach his potential here - we'll just keep getting glimpses of it, and a lot of frustration.

So, if we can get a good price - sell! Sometimes it just doesn't work out, and that's ok.

I think we are all fed up of the whole thing now and there seems quite a lot who would be happy to just get rid now which says it all really the lad just don't do enough for the team and won't Really be much of a miss and as we say No player is bigger than the club.

I'm not at the sell stage as he is a fantastic player who i want to knuckle down with us and become everything he cane be but if that's not to be then so be it.

We will make a huge profit in selling him that can be reinvested in the squad and we will move on.

To be a star like Ronaldo you have to perform like Ronaldo on pitch and not in head assuming he is thinking that way.Again he has to play well enough to remove Bernardo or Sterling from XI,of he can't perform at at that level,he is not Ronaldo not he deserves to start

I dont see any of that?

Discussing his on field attitude isn't slagging him off at a personal level, its a discussion on his perceived professional attitude.

"It's about the person as much as it is the footballer and unfortunately Leroy only ticks one of those boxes at present."

Pretend the criticism is solely about him as a player if you want, but it's not hard to see what's happening here.

What would you call a huge profit ?

Agree he is a build your team around him player under pep though we are a team thats what makes us great!

People still slagging him off on a personal level despite knowing absolutely nothing about him. Great stuff.

Smells a bit RAWKish in here.
What we know about him is his attitude on the pitch which at times displays a lack of interest and effort. I have never spoken to the guy so like most fans have no idea what he is like outside of football nor do I care. But if he gives off the impression he won't go the extra mile on the pitch it is hardly surprising some are indifferent whether he stays or goes.

He is a £100M player in today's market easily.

We paid a reputed £37M 3 years ago and factor in amortisation on that deal and we would make a huge profit.
I think he's worth more than that. Real Madrid just paid around £100m for Eden Hazard who only had a year left on his contract, and Barcelona paid only a little more for Griezmann who is in the same situation. Both of them are 28, so there's no chance that a 23 year old with 2 years left on his contract isn't worth more than them. If we were being quoted £100m next summer after he refused to sign a contract, then I'd say it's reasonable. But this summer, that's definitely not enough.
