I’m sure they would argue this is an investment as we will ‘win’ and make our money back whereas funding state schools above the absolute minimum is not a good way to spend the money

Oh and silly me, there's that extra £350m a week that we're getting back that we can put into the NHS too.

Remain argument and opinion.
Is that an answer to Vic's question or a comment on his first sentence?
If it's the former, isn't it a bit pathetic to base your vote on what would annoy people who don't agree with you?
If it's the latter, which of Vic's points are not demonstrable facts?

No need for that. We might not have the medicine to heal the sick anyway. But repeat after me ‘will of the people’, ‘17.4 million’ and the new one ‘undemocratic backstop’

But if all that fails ‘new trade deal’, ‘intransigent EU’ and of course ‘be more positive’

The latter.

I’ve just watched the first 10 minutes of Sky News. A few things:
1) 1bn rising to £2bn to help agencies and businesses with no-deal
2) Giving Highway Agency officers more powers resulting in them becoming ‘part time policemen’
3) Offering more contracts for rail, road and ferry capacity

This is madness. If anyone seriously thinks anyone from the EU is looking at this and thinks this is the UK meaning business then they are out of their minds, quite frankly. This is unsustainable and for what? They aren’t even discussing benefits anymore they are just reassuring us that food and medicine will be on the shelves

Let’s get serious. No one thinks we are going through with ‘no-deal’ and no one in their right mind thinks Brexit is worth this, surely

Call it a day
Sounds like sensible planning - long overdue

Which bit sounded sensible? The bit where we spunk all the money we've saved over the past few years on a project designed to bring the UK to its knees? The bit where he said it was unsustainable? Or the bit where we're papering over the cracks by creating more pretend policemen? Or the bit where expectations surrounding a no deal brexit have been downgraded from endless opportunity and prosperity to simply making sure we don't die. Sounds great.

EU planning for no deal = sensible, they know what they are doing.

UK planning for no deal = bad......really really bad.

Of course it’s really bad. The EU didn’t ask for us to Leave and are spending money to mitigate the madness - we appear to be encouraging madness

Anybody watch Powell on BBC Newsnight last night? This architect of the GFA and 'super expert' negotiator is arguing any trade regulation can only be via a hard border and will kick off bloodshed and terrorism automatically. Apparently even if trade is regulated by checks away from the actual frontier the 'dissidents' (ie IRA) will shoot the cameras and technology forcing the police to defend them. They will then shoot the police and the British Army will be brought in to defend them - so back to full scale guerilla war. Only a border in the Irish sea will enable Brexit and NI must then remain under EU rules as an appendage to the Republic.
So Brexit and Die - about 12'20 in - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00077j8/newsnight-31072019

Cheers, I'll check that out later

You didn't answer mine, but then I guess I didn't expect one.

That’s because you interjected and couldn’t understand that I had merely answered Vic question at the end.

That for me was the end of it.

You wanting to continue is fine but I don’t feel any compulsion to indulge you I’m afraid.

But you said you hadn't answered his question but simply commented on the first sentence?

Anyway I don't really care what you think.

Brexit is a bad idea. It’s supposed to be a bad idea. It’s supposed to go wrong, it’s supposed to bring the country down

Then along comes along, let’s call him Figel Narage, a ‘strong man’ ala Trump

To reconstruct society, first of all you have to break it - who said that?
Wasn't the self described Leninist was it?
