Absolutely right. It's not that difficult to make an economy look like it's doing well by racking up government debt at an unsustainable rate. Problem is, at some point someone will have to pay and he's betting that will occur once he's gone. The Republicans can then blame the government at the time it happens.

There is a piece on Business Insider that says that very thing. Trumps whole philosophy on this is that "Who cares? I'll be gone when that happens"
