When the scousers sold Saurez and Coutinho for big money when Barceloan and Madrid were sniffing around they got them to sign a new contract with the promise to sell them if those clubs offer the asking price! Cant stand the Liverpool but they did that right. Thing is can we get Sane to do the same so if we get another year out of him we will still get the fee we want?

If it's linked to his wages it'll be small, a couple of million, but I think sometimes it's linked to a % of the sale price so City would definitely want that gone if possible.

That doesn't mean he'd have the same opinion in 2021.
When Pep leaves, we'll have half a dozen of the best XI players in the world starting for us, and that's a very different prospect to 2017.
