Joao Cancelo

Erm, not over the moon about this. I was even ok with letting Cancelo go to bring in a better fullback, but I have no trust in Danilo. He doesn't seem better than Cancelo on the attacking side and he doesn't strike me as a great defender (an area in which Cancelo was frustratingly lacking, too). That's the reason for the additional 30m I guess.

Well, better this than the Dybala-Lukaku swap at least.
He’s not amazing going forward, no. But I still think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by him. He got better and better at City and was unlucky not to be first choice last season in my opinion.

Danny is good at RB,when he got a run he was fine,he has lots of experienc too,you haven't got a dud, just don't let him shoot from distance lol

That's what I hope. If Sarri manages to do well with us, I'm sure he could use Danilo to his best as he did with way worse fullbacks at Napoli.

Also, he always seemed like a hugely popular member of our squad. If there’s a goal when he’s warming up on the touch line he’s the first to get in on the celebrations, he is a top pro. There’s a lot to be said for creating a harmonious dressing room, and guys like Danilo help a lot towards that. I don’t have anything bad to say about him. Is he the greatest right back ever? No. But you’ll be glad you have him.

Lol that's ok, we usually haven't got great expectations of our fullbacks.

I'm not. Nothing against the lad. But he has been perhaps the least significant player in the squad for the past 2 years. Even when Walker was playing shit you never thought Pep fancied using Danilo.

With Cancelo, i think we have someone who will push and perhaps overtake Walker.

Agree with this. I feel some overrate Danilo. I am reluctant to criticize one of our players too much but since he is leaving...

I feel best word to describe him is adequate. He does his role adequately but nothing top rated for the most part. He is bought primarily as a squad player that can fill multiple roles although he was expensive for that role. Decent player and I wish him the best at juve except against us.

Cancelo on other hand can do something brilliant at the offensive end. Just hope we dominate the games and dun need him to do a brilliant defensive role cuz he is weak in that.

Danilo is a good full back, I'm sure he will do a decent job for you.

I'm not at all surprised that Pep has made him one of his first signing's as Juventus manager :)

Arent you guys desperate to balance the books hence selling cancelo, dybala etc.. Frankly cancelo for Danilo plus 30m euros is a very decent deal. Who do you think is a realistic target then for RB?

Danilo is a very good player. Not sure why, but we don’t seem to fancy him. I personally think he’s had some outstanding games.

I rather liked Danilo, but I don’t think he ever performed for us anywhere near as well as Ghoulam did under Sarri, so I think that’s a tad harsh.

Juve supporter friends think he is great going forward but can be awkward defensively. He is like the opposite of Clichy who was decent as a defender but offered fuck all and looked scared in attacks.
But isnt like Kolarov as Kolarov had a magic left foot for crosses, freekicks, long shots Cancelo doesnt have that.

I dont think its a great transfer for Juve or City actually. He isnt 30m pounds better than Danilo. He might not replace Walker anytime soon unless he adjust to the PL quickly.

For me getting an extra CB would be a bigger priority.

Cancelo is a right back and we've signed him, do you want 3?
Huh? I was asking Uffa who is going to be a realistic good option for juve RB if he didn't think Danilo plus cash is a good choice. Given they are desperate to offload a few players to balance the books.
