This deal, assuming it happens, ticks a lot of boxes. He is a right back who can play centre back of left back, both positions where we need cover. According to the MEN Fernandinho has confirmed he will play centre back at times this season so we appear to have that position sorted without signing a specialist centre back.
I’m sorry to see Danilo go but this is great business by the Club.

Cancelo has never played CB, not sure where you got that from.
Can’t wait to see Cancelo in action. Looking at his style of play, we will be able to counter even faster with this guy. We will most likely improve our possesion even more as well, as Walker usually was the one losing the ball in the opposing half.
This team is now as close as you get to a dreamteam. The only thing to have made it perfect would have been De Ligt as a partner to Laporte. From there, I wouldn’t change a single player for years. But we will most likely be fine with Stones too ;) And Garcia hopefully.

Much as a like Zinchenko he will never be good enough defensively and Mendy is just too much of an injury liability....
