Medicare For All

@15:55

"If I was elected President tomorrow, I can't do the things that I would like to do that I am campaigning on unless millions of people were working with me."

Bernie Sanders
Truth from the horses mouth.

Are you fooking serious...???

He's talking about LITERALLY not telling the people what they can and can't have and he won't legislate anything without the citizens mandate!!

Don't be weird!
Getting incredulous doesn't make you right. He needs a Congress and a populace that agrees with him. Not just coastal elites and Foreign Elites. That would not be enough.

Well duh! Obviously!

It's hard to see Republican senators being able to stay in percentage power come 2020.

He's already stated that flipping congress is a must on other mediums; just not here!

Let me keep watching :)
I think I understand what you were speaking about, but it was how do you say...

"All ass backwards?"!

I said you had the system for MFA, but needed to expand it to reach younger age ranges and you said MFA doesn't exist to do so!

I think you meant LITERALLY it doesn't exist in the proposed form rather than Medicare, itself.

A bizarre reasoning.
Errrh No. That's you retelling the story incorrectly.

I said: I was up for a discussion on MFA
You said: Good. Convince me MFA isn't great for the people.
I said: No, the onus is on you to show why a system we don't currently have will work.

You responded: First mistake, you have Medicare already.

To which I responded: No we don't have MFA. We have Medicare. Very different from MFA. One covers a subset of people. The other is an attempt to cover everyone.

Is anything I stated above incorrect?

Okay. His explanation of why we are overpaying for prescription drugs just don't make sense.

Why isn't JR asking serious questions about how the drug companies came to own a monopoly?

His answer on Minimum wage is equally flawed. NY just passed 15 dollar minimum wage. Can someone compare the unemployment rate please? Just check the numbers and report.

Why is the cost of college souring at an alarming rate? There is a correlation here. Someone say something!

Well, yes! The context you frame is inaccurate!

I clearly stated that Sanders wanted to expand Medicare for the rest of the country, ergo "Medicare-For-All".

How does this not compute?

And the boot of a car is the trunk- so what is that thing on an elephants' face?
1.
the main woody stem of a tree as distinct from its branches and roots.
2.
a person's or animal's body apart from the limbs and head.
3.
the elongated, prehensile nose of an elephant.
synonyms
4.
a large box with a hinged lid for storing or transporting clothes and other articles.
5.
an enclosed space at the back of a car for carrying luggage and other goods.

Thus,
smash Grassland's trunk with a small tree's trunk, tie it with the elephant's trunk, stuff it it in the leather trunk and then put it in the trunk of the car.

The only thing I will agree on is the minimum wage answer, you don't stipulate what you found flawed, though

As for prescription drugs, why you think your country 'overpays'?

It sounds like you think it's fine!

Where and how is it possible for you to conclude this?

No, I think it's Government intervention that causes the monopoly which allows drug companies the freedom to raise prices without consequences. Generally, the reason producers of any product can't charge whatever they want us because someone else will charge less for a similar product.

Something is stopping companies from undercutting each other and dropping prices. The Government!

Those of us who don't trust the Government, even when they have good intentions, do so for a reason. The good intentions of government's have a terrible record of equating good outcomes.

Thus, if you are more interested in the outcomes rather than the intent you don't happy clap every proposal.

Mrs Dax is an Anaesthesiologist. I ask her everyday how much the stuff she uses at work cost? How much is each procedure. It turns out no one knows.

Insurance companies and drug companies with the aid of Government rules that were meant to help the people but were poorly thought out, make these ripoffs possible.

The answer is generally less Government intervention. Not more

To be fair I can see where trunk came from, it would have been at the back of the car where trunks (boxes) were originally held on early designs and possibly horse drawn cabs etc. Not sure where boot comes from.

Hmm...

I'm searching for the logic...

So, are you suggesting the Gov, past and present, have had [unwritten] laws/ agreements that the drug companies cannot lower prices in a free market??

Cos that's what your system is, right? Free market? Which means a company can set the prices on whatever product they want to.

So... If that's the case, why would a pharmaceutical company with the business model of producing drugs to save/ ease lives, compete with another company if there's "room for everyone" as a mantra and it wants more and more profit?

Prices are not regulated, so it passes to the consumer.

The Gov intervention should be the opposite of what you stated, which WHY Sanders' idea of MFA is continually attacked by Big Pharma.

He's a threat to their profit margins.

How you don't see this is truly baffling!

Now explain Bonet and hood :)

This...

Is nonsense.

Now explain Bonet and hood :)
They're pretty similar words, both mean a soft cloth head covering as itself. In mainland Europe, which is where the car industry originally grew this side of the Atlantic, a car would have been deemed a feminine item (la voiture in French, for example). The covering of the engine is also given a more feminine word, bonnet. In the US, this influence is much less and they decided hood was better suited.
