It would be prudent to keep him on his present contract and see how he recovers I think mate.....or a lower offer.

Christ. I wouldn't say that about a Dipper player, never mind one of our own. You are surely better than that post.Fuck him. Pull the offer and let him spend the next year wondering if he will ever have that pace again.
exactly this. everything about our club is class, here is a chance to prove it to Bayern and to Leroy. put the deal to him again today, a gamble on our part but we can afford it better than anyone else. we should use that financial strength to show the boy how highly we rate him.Time for Sane to feel the love, hopefully BM take a step back and we take a step forward. Tell him contract there regardless, not after he’s proved himself again.
Leroy Sane's cruciate ligament injury has cost him £20.8million-a-year (£400,000-a-week) contract with Bayern Munich. He needs surgery on his right knee after damaging his ACL - scuppering any chance of a move. Bayern were ready to pay £110m plus add-ons for Sane. [@MailSport]
I doubt the figures are correct,i can't see them paying him that much
Agreed
If the contract offer is still there he’d be a fool not to accept it.
I am sure the club will do the right thing.

Surely you overestimate the power of a thread about him on Blue Moon?Time for Sane to feel the love, hopefully BM take a step back and we take a step forward. Tell him contract there regardless, not after he’s proved himself again.
Haha!!!Entwistle?
fine but if he does sign they can't low ball us. by the time he is fit he will have 4 years to go on his contract. We showed how much we rated him with the improved offer over 12 months ago, did he show how much he valued us by signing it then? It is a two way street and we did our bit and Sane, for whatever reason didn't feel inclined to do his. Some will say he was negotiating with us, but many more were thinking he was wanting out and just waiting for Bayern to make the offer.
I suspect we will keep the current offer on the table, but I personally would rather see how he is in 12 months and whether a) he has regained full fitness and b) whether Bayern are still sniffing around because, if they are, I suspect it will be because Sane wants them to be.

Not sure abut that.
Much easier to hold out on signing the contract, when you are injured & can't play anyhow, rather than potentially missing games because of it, imo.
He is now going to be sat around, with the German rags tapping up his family & making illegal approaches to him, then when he returns, he has only one year left, so not just the rags, but all the other teams can start on him & City have to consider whether to cash in, if he hasn't signed.
If he holds out for this season, we probably have to make him available for bids.
Imo, if he doesn't sign in the next few months, we probably won't see him again for City.
I think he already is available for bids. They just haven’t bid enough, or at all.Not sure abut that.

That is true Bill but I am a cynical old git and think if he wakes up from the anesthetic pleading for a pen, I would think it was for the wrong reasons :)fine but if he does sign they can't low ball us. by the time he is fit he will have 4 years to go on his contract.
Sane must be quite sure he will be the same player and won't suffer another bad injury to reason like that. If he refuses our offer and suffers another injury next summer, he'll be fucked. Bayern ain't offering him the same crazy wages after this horrific injury.
Not just to show our class to Leroy but also every other player at the club and any players we might want to sign in the future. I know it is a slightly unusual dynamic because it looked like he was agitating for a move prior to his injury but I reckon players generally take notice of stuff like this and if we instantly say "you're injured now so fuck the new contract offer" then I reckon it would send a terrible message generally about the club. All players must know their careers are at the mercy of bad injuries, it would be good if we can show that we truly look after our players when that worst case scenario happens.exactly this. everything about our club is class, here is a chance to prove it to Bayern and to Leroy. put the deal to him again today, a gamble on our part but we can afford it better than anyone else. we should use that financial strength to show the boy how highly we rate him.

Spot on. We don't know and don't need to get into the reasons why, but for whatever reason, Sané was not getting the minutes on the pitch which I am sure he would have liked. If, as I suspect, Leroy's whole problem with signing at City is playing time, then he has just lost a year during which he would have found out whether he is a key player, or a fringe player & be able to make a decision.
So he either guesses Pep will use him when he comes back & signs, or just keeps his options open, as Gundogan has done.
If I was him, I wouldn't sign. In which case, Bayern & others will all be in for him, without him having to court any of them.
I agree, but if our treatment of Kompany didn't prove our class in this department already, then I don't know what would. Not just to show our class to Leroy but also every other player at the club and any players we might want to sign in the future. This must have been a factor in his thinking. How could it not be???
