Manchester City FC can confirm that it has today received a reprimand and a CHF 370,000 fine following the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee concerning the international transfer of players under the age of 18, particularly in relation to their trial periods and participation in friendly games.

The Club accepts responsibility for the breaches which arose as a result of misinterpretation of the regulations in question. All of the breaches occurred before December 2016 when guidance on the interpretation of the provisions was issued, since which date Manchester City has been fully compliant.

The Club regards highly and shares FIFA’s determination to ensure the protection of minors in football and has cooperated fully with the investigation which has been transparent and evidenced based at all times.

Notice the evidence based bit, like khaldoon says, facts

great statement.

But it would.

If (for example)we were held out of that competition it would 100% affect who would want to join us in those 2 years.
worst scenario is a year ban and i'm almost 99.9% UEFA have shot themselves in the foot and expect nothing to happen,we will have the cream of lawyers on this 'the finest' :-)

United fans in making a tit of themselves shocker. I wonder if somebody will eventually point out the differences to them or will they just go with them being the exact same charges as fact now as they so often do with anything that suits them? Not sure why they want us banned from the champs league not as if it improves their chances of winning it, they’d have to qualify first...

As I read it, and somebody correct me if I’m wrong, the jist of it is, we had two players involved, both before 2016 when the latest guidelines were put in place, we have admitted our historical errors with regards to them, haven’t done anything since then or since the new guidelines and haven’t broken any other rule either.

Chelsea on the other hand had over 30 players involved, have been found guilty as many as 3 times already and have been doing it over a prolonged period of time and denied it all time and time again. All whilst breaking other registration rules too.

Yeah I don’t see any difference there at all to be honest.

That’s like unwititngly dropping a chcoclate bar into your bag whilst shopping, spotting it as youre about to go out of the shop but not taking it back then admitting to it when a guard sees you take it out of your bag outside. compared to a known shoplifter coming in with a giant swag bag a detagger and grabbing whatever he can carry, walking out with things falling from his bag and denying there’s anything even in there.
