Then why offer NI a "special status" if it accepts the terms of the GFA? Why be deliberately antagonistic?
A special status to allow the GFA to survive Brexit. To allow NI the best of both worlds. The GFA gives NI special status, that's the part that the DUP don't like.

Pray offer an example?
So we can go on another non sequitur argument about the examples I offer?

Stick to the point being raised, pleased. The deal is between two unions, and our union is not currently being respected by the EU either. May's cabinet is gone and the UK still has not left. The WA is therefore no longer valid (it wasn't anyway, because Parliament has rejected it three times).

New negotiations, if the EU is serious, must be made if they are true to their word of wanting a trade deal, otherwise we trade on tarrifs.

You've claimed the EU break international trade laws. I'm saying you're full of it. Prove me wrong.

By trapping the whole of the UK in a customs union?

IDS blaming previous cabinet for the failure to get Brexit through - getting his blame in early for when the shit hits the fan I see.............he is like Grayling - another **** with a mess in his wake but always points the finger at someone else - never his fault

I suspect the EU will view it differently from you. May's deal was also owned and crafted by them.
Which has been rejected by our Parliament. So we need new negotiations if the EU is serious about reaching a deal. They offered a Canada style deal, something Johnson publicy approved of in the past, his "Super Canada" plan. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45673214

So offer it again. I'm sure with the EU's help, "BoJo's Super Canada" deal will become a 'reality', but the EU's said "no more negotiations" haven't they.

Links rather than vague and unsubstantiated inferences please.
How about we discuss what we were talking about.

Because this is what happens:

I provide links, you pick apart those links defending the EU from a Europhile standpoint, I then have to give my point of view and all of a sudden we're discussing the links, rather than what we're talking about.

Not falling for it. Discuss the EU union and the UK union and how the GFA is not being fully respected by the EU, otherwise it would not be an issue.

They have.

The biggest problem for Ireland will be the disruption to its supply chain. Much of it goes through Holyhead and through the UK onto the continent. If the port disruptions and delays happen as predicted, then Irish goods will also suffer terribly as much of it is perishable goods.

It’s why a deal will be done.

Geographically Ireland is stranded and 100% needs the UK to ship through as we also need them.

Trade yes, political union no.

Why, if the EU "aren't going to renegotiate", as remainers claim?

Our PM is sure they will if we threaten no-deal for long enough. But putting that to one side, if the UK said ok this has been a fuck up from start to finish but politically we need to go though with it but we don't want to burn all bridges and do not want to threaten the break up of the UK. So let's scrub out the red-lines, we are happy to stay in the CU(or as near that makes no difference) and we are happy to keep FoM(just change the name). What is wrong with that?

the obvious answer is, that would not be a 'real' Brexit and round and round we go. So, they probably won't renegotiate as what we currently have is a UK problem. A problem that, at least as things stand, is unsolvable because we cannot get a better deal than being a member. As a result, there are not enough people prepared to accept that we will have a lower standing in the world. Until that reality is accepted, we are not going to get anywhere as a country

For many of us, this is all it comes down to.

Weren’t the Eu linking the Canada deal to an Irish Sea backstop so it was rejected?

Correct

We are in a right mess.

The problem is even if the eu came back and removed the backstop and gave us a more favourable deal , with a majority of 1 there is absolutely no chance labour the snp, Lib Dem’s are going to support it. They just are not. Labour will do anything to shit on the Tories as will the snp.

There are those who just want to remain and will do anything to get that position. There are those who just want to leave want that at at any cost

Those who want to leave with a deal ( you know the soft brexit the sensible compromise to a divided nation) are pissing in the wind. We could present the most sensible deal to the commons to end this situation and it will get voted down.

We are going to get to October and all be scratching our heads as to what the hell we do now and it will be extended and so it will go on.....

Yep. Compromise is pretty much dead.

Although given I have moved into the ‘Remain at any cost’ camp I guess I’m as much part of the problem as others I’m quick to criticise.
